This is EASY mode???
In the Ratkin caves, while trying to walk towards the sinkhole which leads me back to town so that i could freshen up after three annoyingly large/long ambush attacks, i quite accidentally revealed the Shaman. At that point, my Spirit was empty all around. Now i'm faced with ... i lost count at 30 ... Ratkin and have had to drink more than 20(!!!) Spirit potions in order to keep everyone alive and combat-ready.
My GOD, there's another two there in the corner! And ANOTHER Deathkin hiding back there! And the single chest - my reward for this 45-minute(!!!) ordeal - is a single Small Spirit Infusion and a set of daggers i cannot possibly use (because i've already got better ones). (Oh, look, the locked chest in the corner has yet another Small Spirit Infusion.)
My point is only that the cost/pain of battle, compared to the reward, is damned poor, especially considering that this is easy mode.
Suggestions:
- More fireplaces!!! i can count on one hand the number i've encountered in the 4+ hours i've spent playing.
- lower all-around Spirit costs or higher Spirit scores. Spirit drains too quickly - my mage empties out during almost every battle, possibly because the battles invariably have huge numbers of combatants.
- smaller battles. There's little joy in being waylaid by 20+ Ratkin at a time, especially when they're accompanied by the atrociously resilient Superrats.

sgbeal - thanks for the feedback on balance. It has been mentioned on a few other threads that there is an authoring error in the loot maps used for the Vermin Lair / Warren maps. They are all providing one tier under the intended loot, which will be fixed in a 2014 update.
