The next update will include the full duration of a Curse or Buff, printed as such: "Buffs for 10 Turns (Lore) .." Hooray! Less math for my (usually when I play) tired brain! |

Cory, you should delete this thread. The idea of you walking around in the pre-buff with certain parts of your outlander rock hard is not very kid friendly :-) and there are many many other jokers on this forum just waiting for a chance to have fun at your expense. Some even have ships or package delivery services named after them.

The addition, of the number of turns to the buff dialogue is a nice touch. Cory Trese , my vraes build uses the combination of Phalanx Shield and Natural Mastery. I used Stone Skin before I got Phalanx Shield. I don't see the utility of the increased hit points you get with Stone Skin, I'd prefer to increase other defensive stats (e.g., parry) thus decreasing the number of hit points taken, this leads to less healing, which leads to less use of Kyera's Spririt Points or potions. |

On NM, I'm often surviving late game battles by only 200 or so HP. The big bonus for Stone Skin is +Armor. My Vraes is not using a shield, which eliminates PS for me. I do love Natural Mastery, especially after you max out Blades Skill. |

I love to see everyone doing it differently  I find the combo of Phalanx Shield (which also increases armor) + Stone Skin (I LOVE the HP buff) is the best if you are trying to make a true tank. If you want a 2H weapon, Stone Skin is a must. |

I find the combo of Phalanx Shield (which also increases armor) + Stone Skin (I LOVE the HP buff) is the best if you are trying to make a true tank. If you want a 2H weapon, Stone Skin is a must. Like Cory Trese, one of my builds(dual wielding) is based on SS, NM, SS. Of course, having my pal K and my gal pal K both using armor/dodge/parry buffs helps! |

Well, having my two Nm Vraes picking up the "wrong" items consistently, I 'm stuck with the same store stuff for levels. I will note that it is only slowly affecting my damage output as both the mobs & I level up. Given that & the way damage works, 2AP 1H weapons not only average the same damage (within a point or three) as 3AP 2H weapons, but if you are using enhanced attacks, the 2AP weapons should be *exceeding* the average damage of 3AP weapons. At a higher Spirit cost, but still you get +3 Parry in that case.
fallen posted some Stat maxes in a thread & I hope that buffs like Natural Mastery allow exceeding those limits, but it also appears that Stat / talent / skill increases are not linear in effect and vary by class. Which might mean that Natural Mastery 10 Vraes might be viable as a weapons master build. While not as "good " with Weapon X as a spec Vraes, the ability to use multiple weapon types almost as well as spec builds could compensate.

algesan - and to do that build, you'd want to increase your Lore & Leadership as much as possible, so that is where you'd be dumping Skill Points, instead of into masteries.

Depends on some things. 1. Does the effects of skills, talents, etc. scale in a nonlinear fashion enough to support this 2. Does Vraes Spirit keep pace with the ability to cast Natural Mastery twice without camping or drinking a potion 3. Do Talent buffs exceed the Skill cap. IOW, if the Max Blade Skill is 18 is that Skill + Nat Mastery = 18 or Skill = 18 and Nat Mastery allows it to be 29. Also with 1 above, is the effect worth pursuing or has diminishing returns been hit. |

I do love Natural Mastery, especially after you max out Blades Skill. I think this is high value information, but can't quite get my head around it. So I am trying to explain it to myself. Looking a Vraes he starts with Blades skill at 3. He will have a total of 9 skill points to spend by the time he reaches level 11. Placing them all in Blades totals to 12. Now if you add Naural Mastery(4) which adds +5 to all melee skills that gives you a total of 17 Blades skill? You get 7 total talent points by level 11 so Natural Mastery(4) is a pretty big investment in the vacuum of my guesswork. I don't know if a weapon like Keen Arming blade with Accuracy 3 and Parry 3 plays a role in Blades skill. I have wondered for a long time if +1 Blades equals +1 Accuracy. Am I way off in this analysis? |

@johnrobison - the analysis of the skill and Natural Mastery bonuses is good.
A +1 Accuracy on a weapon adds one Strong Dice to the pool in the accuracy roll. A +1 Blade skill adds a standard dice to the accuracy roll. It goes like this ...
Attribute (Str or Dex) = Standard Dice
Skill = Standard Dice
Weapon Accuracy = Strong Dice
Accuracy Bonus from Active Talent = Strong Dice
Accuracy Bonus from Elsewhere (gear, Buff) = Standard Dice

Assuming strong > standard, then 11 Mastery bonus > 11 Blades bonus, correct?
I'm actually planning the Mastery Vraes build for when the Rogue comes out, but even then it won't be enough of a test since the levels will still be too low. The best part, I think, will be that even though I'll lose bonus damage for weapon X by focusing on Mastery, I'll gain damage from being able to swap weapons, at least through the currently released part of the game. As more content gets released I will still be able to spec in a specific weapon.

Classic stuff you'd see around our pen and paper table if you like crunchy games We are still working on a wholesale publish of this information.
