Am I correct that critical hits are only possible when for characters who have received a buff? That a bit different than most battle systems I've played. It'd be nice if Vraes had a buff that increased his own chance of critical. This would increase his offensive potential and also be consistent with his barbarian-esque character type.

tenbsmith - have you tried Berserk Rage? Without any buffs or gear, characters have a 0% chance of Critical hits.

Certain buffs give a critical chance. The most easily accessible one, that can be used on any other character (or all of them) is the Wizard's "Burning Blades". Otherwise, so far every other character has a self-buff that gives them a critical chance except for the Cleric. Note though, that Vincent's one has a part that applies Accuracy but only to Ranged attacks, while the critical buff is to everything.

All Critical Buffs apply to any type of attack - melee, spell or ranged.

Thanks guys. I overlooked Berserk Rage, Vraes ability that enables critical hits. Overlooked in part because i don't have a level 12 Vraes. It'll be interesting to combine that buff with his more defensive ones...

Weird fallen. I swear Vincents says otherwise. Or maybe it was just ranged accuracy.

Karjus - Eye of the Storm increases ranged accuracy and Critical %. Critical % applies to all attacks.

Boom. There we go! That's what I get for commenting about Vincent when I barely use him. Edited my original post to remove the inaccurate information.
