Just started play. Good stuff. One thing I cannot figure out is armor repairs. I can buy upgrades but I can never seems to repair armor damage is ship battles. Am I just in the wrong ports?

Armor, Guns and Torpedo repairs are purchased at the Military Base. Ports without a military or security force may not have any armor plating for sale.
The cheapest way to purchase military repairs is to obtain at least one Rank with a Faction. Then they will sell you repairs at the Military base on that Faction's planets.
I hope that is clear, still a little early for me after a night of coding.

Keep in mind the dock you go to may not have enough armor plating to fully repair your ship.

PS: Good luck with repairing the ship's armor.
The next release will reduce the damage done to armor somewhat, based on range and weapon type. Armor will be slightly more effective and require less repairs for Captains who avoid close in combat and ramming.
