Started out in my game in Riven Field to check on some future equipment, miss-pressed and started walking. Didn't stop walking and exited the game via the main menu button. Started my current game in the Watershed and when it loaded up it was in the midst of a fight in progress. I finished the fight and there was the walking sound (for Vraes) in the background. This sound persisted through glomming and un-glomming, going into equipment screens etc. I had to manually close the program to fix it.
HTC one latest everything

Also, on PC, it happens pretty frequently that the sound effect for walking doesn't stop after walking. Way to fix it is to walk again, and it fixes itself on next stop.

Tried everything I could possibly think of, including walking- the only fix was to force close

Thanks for the report. On the PC side, I have no idea. What sound card does your machine have?
On Android, are you running one of the Android OS releases with buggy sound system (4.3 - 4.4) or an earlier one like 4.0.3?

I will update the bug we have with Google and try to find a work around.
Is there anything you can identify that triggers it? How often does it happen?

Actually yes- if I begin walking, then back out of the game while still moving (ie press the home button on my HTC one), the walk sound persists on my home screen as well. This happens fairly often when I do this, if not every time... That's 4.4 and latest HoS.

Can you also answer the question Cory asked? Is there a reliable pattern you can use (there is no Back button in PC) to make this happen?

I am not sure if they fixed these in the latest Android update, but no matter we'll try to find a work around that fixes that in 4.2 - 4.4

Sorry, no idea on how to reproduce, I usually play with sound off, but when I play with sound on, it happens at least once on every large map. I'll have the warrior move (outside of combat, can't remember if it happens while in combat), hear the footsteps, warrior (either grouped or ungrouped) gets to destination, stops, but footsteps sound continues. Then I walk again, and when I stop, the footsteps stop normally.
Computer is a work notebook with everything integrated, no high end anything in there.

Checked this out again- it happens every time I hit the home button while in motion. Ambient sounds stop completely, foot fall loop continues indefinitely. If I reenter the game and complete the move or cancel the walk and back out again after stopping, the effect ceases. I hope this helps- should be easy to reproduce, as it is 100% consistent.

En1gma - thanks, that is very helpful to at least understand what causes it on your specific device!

Thanks for the report. On the PC side, I have no idea. What sound card does your machine have? I've noticed the same problem. Steam. Running 64 bit windows 8.1 on an HP Envy TS 17 Notebook PC with "IDT" codec. Appears to be integrated versus dedicated sound card. I didn't notice the problem prior to version 2.1.47. Frequency: When it happens it is usually after finishing a battle, glooming and then stop moving after I reach the new map location I've selected the footstep sound loop continues. If I select another point on the map and begin moving again the footstep sounds stop looping. I didn't mention it before because it doesn't happen all the time and is easy to stop. But it will occur 3 or 4 times before clearing a dungeon map.
