Game Cannot Start, Because MSCVP110.DLL IS Missing.HI. I'm having problems getting HoS to run, on my PC. I've updated my C++ runtime dll's, but HoS won't start, because mscvp110.dll not found. Reinstalled HoS. Still the same. So I thought rude things, (especially since PC is my platform of choice), and thought I'd create this thread, for anyone, having HoS, startup issues, etc.

Google, download the file, put it in game folder or Windows/System3. I don't play it on PC but make sure you install DirectX redist also.

I would not recommend Googling out and finding that file on Google. I would recommend installing the Microsoft Visual Studio 2012 C++ Runtime x86 Update 4 from Microsoft. Restart your computer, give it another go.

Says I need C++ redistribution files for Visual Studio 2013. Which I downloaded. Can't find the missing .dll though.

No, absolutely not. 2013 and 2012 are different runtimes and installing 2013 does nothing to support 2012 builds. This is how C++ has worked since Visual Studio 97. Ahhh ... such memories =)

Well, well, well. Learn a new thing everyday, (and forget it, the day after). =) Thank you.

This KB lists the current runtimes MS supports: support.microsoft.com/kb/2019667In the case of C++ the application requires a run time that matches the version of Visual Studio used to build it. We are using Visual Studio 2012 (cannot afford 2013) so you have to install that run time. The end result is that many people have a dozen or more C++ RT installed in windows.

Everytime a software ask you to install DirectX or VC++ or .net always do it. New files are constantly added to those.
And there are very safe sites on the internet to download DLLs files. Not everyone is an asshole.

That's why I've never encountered an issue that made me dive into the tech books. I never used Visual Studio, and I've always left the C++ runtimes, on my drive. So, yes, I have a collection of different updates and versions. It just goes to show how diverse the PC "universe" is. That's what attracted me to PC, in the first place. You NEVER run out of new things to learn and do! Thanks again Cory. I shall study the KB list.

Hi VincentD. Sorry. I wasn't ignoring you. Thanks for your help. I'm using a mobile phone, to download things at the moment. Also. Windows XP, (which I'm still using), is no longer supported by MS, when it comes to software security updates, (for Windows XP components). So I have to be careful, (as all users should be, when on the Net). Thanks for your input.

Hi Cory Trese and fallen. Just to confirm, for the record, and future users. It WAS the need for MS C++ Redist 2012 Update 4, that solved the problem. Now fallen has rewritten the README, there shouldn't be any further problems. AND, I learnt a lot of new things about VS. ("there's nothing more frightful, than ignorance in action" ---> talking about me, not you). Thanks for your time Bro's <Mega Happy cos HoS now runs> Ps. "Have a nice day".

@cig - you can get it from the Desura client by right clicking on the game. Knowing your story, I know that probably doesn't work for you.
As far as I can tell, Desura makes this impossible through the web. I have sent a PM.
