I've made a testing temporary IRC channel ##trese on Freenode. Web interface webchat.freenode.net?channels=%23%23trese. Cory/Andrew/basically any established user, ask me and I will give you op/if you want me to stop I'll take it down. |

I actually offered an IRC channel on the network I personally own and run to Cory and Andrew quite a while back, but they declined at that time. I love IRC for the real time interaction, but I understand their reluctance in that it could end up as more of a distraction for them. I do hope they will reconsider, since they would have much more help and control on my network than one where they don't know the owners, but I respect whichever way they choose to go.

Feel free to re-register the room, I would prefer some type of official sanction from one of the Trese brothers before me personally making an IRC channel about their games. The reason I used freenode: I have a fancy Wikipedia editor/countervandalism cloak there. A privately owned server would probably be more reliable, so I fully support using BlastGT1's server, although Wikipedia does use Freenode for its official channels so it should be pretty stable. |

Aww. Well personally I understand if TB don't sanction it. I play a tcg and manage a guild for it so i dont mind answering questions on TB games. I just suck at math.

An irc is sorta like a chatroom. You would log in like normal and talk strategy or about dealing with the sock puppets... THAT WE ALL REALLY LIKE AND HOPE THAT NOTHING ILL BEFALLS THEM. Irc is free... but some clients are not.

IRC = Internet Relay Chat. Basically, it's a chatroom (or a collection of them) on a server. Chatrooms in IRC are called channels, with the names prefixed by the # symbol, such as #mychannel. IRC doesn't have fancy emoticons or graphics, although most IRC clients can do colored text, and you can color the text you send to a channel. However, it offers a lot more control than an unmoderated chatroom, including being able to kick and ban trolls.
It occurred to me that if I'm going to host what is essentially a community channel, I should probably get everyone's input on what to name the channel, as opposed to arbitrarily picking a name for it. With that said, here are a couple of suggestions just to get the ball rolling:

#TreseBrothers

#tbfans
Please post your own suggestions, or vote for any suggestions made if you don't have any suggestions of your own, and we'll choose a name as a community, since that's what a community is all about! Viva la Trese Brothers!
