Hi, i tried playing the game (Star Traders Elite to be precise) on my tablet but it doens't seem to work. It crashes as soon as i tap anywhere on the map after either starting a new game or loading the game again after it crashed. The tablet is a Lenovo Yoga 8 with Android 4.4.2. I also used the report function after the crash, with the following description "The game crashes after tapping anywhere on the map after loading a game on my Lenovo Yoga 8 tablet" I couldn't use CatLog because my tablet isn't rooted. It isn't that big of a problem because i can play it on my phone perfectly fine, but it would still be nice to have the game available on all my devices

Thanks for putting in the report to Google Play with this informative message. That will help us find and fix the bug.

I'll check into it.
We only get about 1 crash a month in ST RPG, so they're easy to find.
In this case, the error is in /system/lib/libandroid_runtime.so
There are two reports, both from you on the B6000-H (Yoga 8)
This looks like an issue deep in the Android OS the device runs, the crash is completely outside of our code.
I'll submit a bug with Google and Lenovo but in the past, those haven't gotten us very far.
If any other users report issues with the Yoga 8 (we have 11 other players on it) I will filter the device so no one else is impacted.
This would be the first device (out of 6,300) that we had to filter. Pretty odd.
Anything else funky going on with your tablet? Screen magnifiers, extra applications, "View Root Shifter" or anything that the other 11 users aren't running?

Rooted, ROMed, etc?

Nope. No root and nothing else out oft the ordinary, but i guess i'll try a factory reset tomorrow and see if that solves the issue. It's strange because ST RPG is the only game so far that doesn't work, HoS and ST 4X run perfectly fine for example.
Also thanks for the quick replies, you guys are awesome! :-)

brotherarkio - the games you listed are written on very different platforms - ST RPG is Java, while 4X and HoS are C++.

And in this case, Star Traders RPG depends entirely on the Android OS to manage the drawing and touch management.
Having learned our lessons about the bugs / fragmentation / Google in Android, we switched to writing our own drawing and touch management systems by hand, instead of relying on the OS.
ST RPG is way too far along to be decoupled from the OS, so we depend on Google to keep the drawing and touch systems functional.
In Android 4.3 Google introduced OS breaking bugs, and it looks like they may have done the same in 4.4.x ... it remains to be seen if they will fix it, if we can work around it, or if the device is a lost cause.
We're digging!

Ok, now i'm really confused. I just tried the free version: IT WORKS Are there any differences between Elite and free that would explain why one works on my device and the other one doesn't? I also asked a friend who has the same device to try Elite and it worked just fine, but his Yoga still runs on Android 4.2.2 because he didn't receive the latest update yet.

Sorry, there is no difference between the Free and Elite edition, they're using the same exact code and are actually building against the same shared library.

Sorry to report that the Android OS builds on the Yoga line (8 and 10) are pretty messed up. We've hacked around getting some of our games to run on devices like that, but most developers don't. I'm not surprised Star Wars and Simcity crash on it, the drawing sizes it returns are enough to make most frameworks force close. Sorry
