When I started my current game in the middle of this long map, I was expecting to find Xenos on both end! That will be a superb challenge for the ultimate 2 fronts war. I did find something beyond the asteroid fields to the left of the starting position fairly early on, good natural DMZ for me. As I start moving to the right cautiously pass the 2nd asteroid field on the right even, I find nothing! All empty space!
For the sake of challenge, can we have xenos on both ends??
Xeno 1 can start way left and Xeno 2 way right.

For the sake of variety, starting locations in this game are semi-randomized.

For the sake of variety, starting locations in this game are semi-randomized. Fair enough but when you have 2 or more starting only on 1 side in that map configuration, it makes the game way too easy especially they are behind that "Thick" asteroid DMZ. Technically you can probably play on without ever have to fight them. Keep the randomization but put 1 on each side when there are 2 xenos. If it is 3 xenos, then do it like the 2 but have 1 more on 1 side.

I think sometimes randomisation should be able to put them both on one side of you.

I think sometimes randomisation should be able to put them both on one side of you. I've seen it both ways. It does take a bit of play to figure out where they are tho, so you might not know right away.

It does take a bit of play to figure out where they are tho, so you might not know right away. If I know they are both on 1 side, then I'll put my Thulun colonies that way for fast ship builds. The other 2 houses can stay back to fuel the economy. If you assume both sides and plan that way, you get screwed when the fighting starts. You will have to travel long ways to get the ships to the front.
