OK... Completely unsolicited, and I know the TB don't plan to add a third set of options for the characters, but I dreamed up this rogue class and had to share for feedback for the fun of it:
BARD
Would use any non-heavy armor and light blades + thrown weapons
Skills: -Basic Slash Attack -Basic Thrown Attack -Lock Pick Skill -Disarm Skill -Buff Slash Attack - lasts for 2 turns and also buffs adjacent characters with increasing numbers with level... Exact buffs per level tbd -Buff Throw Attack - only lasts for current turn, but buff stacks with each hit... So if you get +1 damage, and you have already hit twice, then the third hit would be at +3 damage ... Exact buffs per level tbd -Coordinated Strike - Allows Dual Strike with light blade and thrown weapon at 1 range at same time ... Exact buffs per level tbd -Health Song - All characters heal HP at the beginning of every combat round.. Exact amounts TBD -Overdrive Overture - Inspirational Bard song that affects all allies within certain range of bard. Only lasts for the current turn and costs 4-5AP. Has the following effects: Lvl 1: Range 2; +1 Dodge,Parry,Accuracy;+2 Damage Lvl 2: Dodge & Parry go to +2 and Damage to +4 Lvl 3: Range 3; Accuracy to +2; +1 MP Lvl 4: Dodge & Parry go to +3 and Damage to +6 Lvl 5: Range 4; Accuracy to +3; +1 AP Lvl 6: Dodge & Parry go to +4 and Damage to +10 Lvl 7: Range 6; Accuracy to +4; +2MP Lvl 8: Damage to +16 Lvl 9: Range 8; Dodge & Parry to +5 Lvl 10; Accuracy to +5; +2 AP -Soothing Sonata - Bard Song with duration based on attributes and affects all opponents within certain range of bard. Reduces Accuracy/Damage/AP with amounts/cost TBD -Fleet Foot - Self Buff that adds Dodge, Parry, and MP... Amounts TBD

We had some exciting additional character as part of the KickStarter ... Monk, Assassin, Bard, Hunter.
Love this post, great ideas. Buff Throw is awesome =)

Was just dreaming up a Monk class too... Maybe we'll post it for fun too. Would love to hear others ideas on characters and skills here. It is just for fun and shows the community's creativity... And who knows maybe the TB's will use an idea or two in future versions or games.

Absolutely - please share the ideas! Also, note that with each new character we've added a type of Talent that didn't exist before (Cursing Attacks, Buffing Attacks, Auto-Block, etc) so think big

Shaman/Druid type class.
Staffs only. Can wear light armor.
Earth Strike: Equivalent to FB, but Earth damage. Higher levels could provide a knockback effect. Entangling Roots: Provides an immobilization effect and DOT. Higher levels increase duration and damage. Nature's Hastening: Provides Dodge at low levels, group MP buff rising in power as level grows. Thorn Storm: DoT AoE spell. Removes MP and dodge/parry at higher levels. Druidic Armor: Provides both armor and base damage bonuses. Higher levels include bonuses to Earth damage and resistances. Leaf Blade: Similar to Storm Strike. Boosts critical hit percentages as self buff.

Maybe the Monk could have unique hand weapons, like non magical staves, or gloves. Now that I think about it, it sounds a bit like a Cybersword...

Think outside the box...if we get a third tier, call them advanced user mode and warn that the text may be screwy. Then build stuff to mix up the slots without trying to make Tank, Rogue, Healer, Caster. The only rule should be that new class X cannot go into the same slot as what it represents. Say a Ranger with up to medium armor, a touch better melee damage and good missile fire (and other rangerish goodies)...in the healer spot.
Or, keeping on outside the box....allow the current characters to mix slots...Kincaid, Fyona, Selen, Kyera....Kincaid, Fyona, Tami, Vraes....Vincent, Kyera, Kjartan, Selen...

I have an interesting idea for a tank. I know it's not truly out of the box, but I'll still post him.
Pikeman: Spear and Shield only.
Sturdy Shield: Adds parry bonuses for shield. Follow Through: Attack that if it connects with the target, follows through and his the target behind it (AoE angling would apply here) Shield Bash: Stunning effect, damage proportional to ability and parry rating on used shield. Knock around effect- moves target into anadjacent square- could be used to setup Follow Through Retaliating Defense: Deflects a percentage of damage back to attacker. It could also have a chance to reflect 100% of damage back to attacker. Stalwart Defender: Chance of blocking attacks meant for an adjacent party member Grievous Piercing: Low accuracy, high damage attack that causes damage per turn- bleeding style Aimed Stabbing: High accuracy high critical chance Thrust: Basic attack similar to Lunge Debilitating Strike: Damage and root effect. Could strip armor. Thrown Spear: 4 range attack that you must retrieve by killing the enemy.

The Gambler
Weaponry: Throwing Knives and blades
Style: risk= rewards. Master of boosting dice pools, then taking risks based on them.
Talents: Run the Gambit: Boost Accuracy, Damage, Crit. Rising chance of auto-miss, but successful blows deal a damage multiplier. Infuriating Throw: TK attack that if it connects boosts enemy damage, but lowers their accuracy significantly. Risked Parry: Huge boosts to parry, but connecting attacks deal damage plus multiplier. Game of Chance: (self buff) Huge boost to damage. Rising chance of auto hit from enemies, but buff boosts dodge/parry. Flip a Coin: Next attack has a 50-50 chance to ignore all armor and auto hit or miss, rising chance of critical hit. Play Dirty: Blade attack that has a rising chance to strip armor and accuracy. Lucky Swing: Consecutive attacks deal increased damage, but increase the chances of auto miss.

Parts of the Pikeman build could be applied to Vraes. That gives me some ideas...

Necromancer
I know it's stereotypical. But this could really be a ton of fun. Replace the healer.
Style: Lifetap and reanimate.
Raise the Dead: Summon undead archer/swordsman with an independent AI. AI has basic curse that lowers mp or accuracy or parry or something.
Death's Terror: Fear spell that sharply lowers ap and forces a retreat for a number of turns.
Drain Essence: Mana Tap for increasing amounts
Drain Life: Cheap and effective increasing lifetap.
Self-Sacrifice: Transfer health to teammate.
Ultimate Price: Transfer all but one HP to teammate.
Siphonstorm: AoE lifetap that lowers accuracy for a turn or two. Group splits the damage done amongst themselves evenly.
Ryethin's Aura: Group buff that activates a fear effect when teammate is hit in melee combat

Cool archetype, but wouldn't a necromancer fly in the face of the Goddess of Death, our lord and master?
