Sadly the #1 review on Steam for Heroes of Steel is a negative one from a user who feels the entire game is only worth about $2. The primary complaint in the comments is that the controls are not responsive. Needless to say, I'd love to fix this and maybe get the more positive reviews voted up. Anyone on here want to chip in and confirm they see a large number of clicks being ignored? If so, when and how? I do most of my HoS playing now on PC (admittedly on a high end workstation) and I don't have any problems with ignored clicks. I've spent a few hours today trying to reproduce / reading code to find a cause and have come up empty handed. Anyone help? Also, if you haven't done so ... please jump over to steam and vote all the positive reviews that you find Helpful as "Thumbs Up" store.steampowered.com/app/291190/

Cory TreseHaven't played hos in ages. But do have it on steam. I played the First battle for testing. I think that i know what the guy is talking about. Its the double clicking that is usefel on touch screens but not so useful when moving on a lap top or pc. A confirmation of do you want to move here "optional" setting may be in order. Also a way to speed up the texts and/or movements would help on pc. I notice that when you hover over active talents it doesn't describe the talent and the only way to see this is by clicking on the talents button. A window pops up that doesn't have a scroll bar. With a lap top and touch mouse makes it even more difficult. Anyway, i hope this helps. Crimson

Crimson - thanks for the feedbacks, but its all RFEs and not describing the issue the user has quoted. An option to turn off move confirmation, a way to speed up the game, and mouse-overs on talents. We'll keep working on improving the game in general Please let us know if you see any cases in which "33% of the clicks are being dropped"! That's what we are specifically trying to locate. If you agree / disagree, feel free to comment or vote on the reviewers claim that "33% of clicks are being dropped." We really want to fix this, if its really happening.

Thats what i was trying to say. If you don't double click it may be interperated As a missed click. The text also ignores clicks if you are trying to move ahead.
Thats the only thing i can see where the game lag from text /and double click move method makes you feel like its missing clicks.
I added the rest just because i noticed looking at it with fresh eyes.

What do you mean? I'm not sure what 'text ignores clicks' means. Thanks for the response, hopefully we'll get some details or input that helps us solve the issue. I do not think the issue has anything to do with the double tap, the posts on Steam seem to about something else when I read them. We'll keep looking and working on it.

Got some reports that for at least one of the reporting users, they were trying to give orders to the characters during the monster's turn. Still hoping Crimson comes back and posts an update, or anyone else who plays on PC chips in their thoughts.

Cory TreseWhen the text is going through "the story" and you click else where its ignored. The double click thing is probably it though. You click once you see a circle you have to double click to make him move. I think its mostly impatience on part of the user if they are trying to play like say metriod.... Crimson

The report seems to be that clicks on some parts of the interface/map do not register -- that the clicks are not processed at all by the game.
I don't think they are having issues getting the sprites to move. Everyone who's complaining has logged several hours of play -- I believe they have mastered moving characters at that point. And none of those clicks are "ignored" it just takes two clicks to move. Very possible I'm wrong about that.
So, I have asked the people who are talking to me for more details, and based on your input, added an additional question about movement confirmation. I would LOVE to find out that you're right and the move confirmation is the root issue -- that would be so very easy to explain to people and perhaps get the negative reviews reversed.

I use a Google Nexus 7, which came with the disclaimer at the store a year ago that the number one issue with the that wave of the Nexus tables was screen response when not using a stylus. Note: same issue occurs with other games too. So it's not a HoS issue, for me. I'd be curious to know what devices are having the problem.

Can you give a 1,2,3 explanation of what happens and where you click, or send some screenshots? I've been playing and trying to see anything. One thing I see is that while "Skip All" button is fading it, it soaks clicks, but that is intended to prevent accidental skipping.

fallenI don't have time this morning for booting up the lap top. But when you are moving along and have an event.. "what was that" prior to or after a battle. If you try to move further. The text soaks up clicks. This one isn't a big deal but thought it might be something.

Crimson - okay, I will examine this point specifically. If the game is really soaking up clicks, Cory and I aren't noticing because we play in a rhythm that is nice for the game engine, and know "too much." We're asking for help because we don't see it, even if it is there. Perhaps we can work on putting up an indicator when the game is getting ready to run a cut-scene or a battle is starting.
