I visited some island and I can found almost all of them on the map. Today I've visited some island at the Sea of Acada [1, 2] but only one has been added to my map. I'm at the Sea of Acada [1, 2]: Close to the island: Landed: Went to the beach - island's name is Buccaneer's Refuge: Completed expedition (just for fun): The only island on my map is the Thundering Cave: This can be difficult to reproduce because it usually works fine... I've just checked the Captain's log for entries related to the Buccaneer's Refuge. It turned out there's another island with the same name at the West Sea [2, 3] which I've had visited a few months ago:

Still working on figuring out what causes this.

Seems that islands not being marked on the map vary every gameplay. Now I charted all the three islands at the Sea of Acada [1, 2], and their names are: Topmans Beach, Breakwater Street, Sirens Song Reef. There's no Buccaneer's Refuge nor Thundering Cave I saw previously (in 1.1.37). Are the islands names chosen randomly? However, I wasn't able to chart some islands in different locations, so it seems to be nondeterministic. Moreover, this bug prevents me from achieving "Master of the First Sea" award AoP 1.2.5 Elite (GPlay)

Nothing random about island allocation -- it's all static and hard-coded into the maps.

Cory Trese - Yes, I say "it works for me" too when QA reports a bug But unfortunately I can't actually chart all the islands and get "Master of the First Sea" award. I can make a movie where islands doesn't appear on the map if you're not convinced there's a bug.

You've reported a few bugs that sound like bad root / task killer / dev options / Android DB corrupts, which makes me wonder if they're connected.

I got issues with island not appearing on the map and Nathaniel Sveet crash definitely before my device was rooted.
Infinite Shot and Powder was on the rooted device though.
What other bugs I've reported do you think may be connected to the root or other corruption?

I log all bugs equally no matter the source and try to reproduce them.
I have rooted, hacked, stock, old, OTA and x86 devices -- just about 16 inches tall stack of them.
Any bug I can reproduce, on any device, I can fix. If it cannot be reproduced by the auto-player or manually, I cannot really fix.

Any bug I can reproduce, on any device, I can fix. If it cannot be reproduced by the auto-player or manually, I cannot really fix. Absolutely, I completely understand this as I face the same problem every day. I'm working with web applications but the principles remain the same: if I can't reproduce an issue QA has reported, I'm grepping logs. So I wonder if you can add some log messages printed when captain visits an island and I'll provide you logcat. I understand it's a minor issue because it seems to be working fine for you and for most users. I know the $3 I spent on AoP Elite is a very small amount of money and I'm aware you have a lot of other projects to care of, including ST2. But perhaps someday if you have some time, you could add these logs which may help solving this issue. It's extremely improbable my device is so specific that I'm the only person in the world facing this issue About Nathaniel Sveet crash - I've emailed you screenshots of the crash report with the whole stack trace, and sent the crash report using Google Play services.

I've resolved hundreds of bugs in Android that were the result of a specific hardware device's Dalvik, settings, firmware and Android OS combination. Android is a fragmented mess (makes browser and javascript engine fragmentation look easy) and Google introduces a crazy number of bugs for developers to work around. There is code in several of our games that says things like "if Droid X running 2.3.3 and Dalvik v231, run this alternate code for saving data about credits"
