I noticed a couple of items on the play store in regard to receiving XP for hacking.
No.
Please no.
It makes absolutely 0 sense to get XP for stats not related at all to the action. Hack could take place in normal day to day, so that makes sense, but XP while in the matrix is akin to being able to get stronger after a marathon Nintendo session. It's just not happening.
My suggestion?
Item subclasses for hacking. Instead of getting XP, have data chips that can be used to augment the particular hacker item. This, in theory, would allow for greater variety of hacker. One could buff up firewall and be a tank type, another one increase their ICE and be a powerhouse, etc, etc. Also, the data chips would not be available during encounters, for the same reason: these exist digitally in the Matrix, an enemy runner won't have these in their pocket!
What does everyone else think?

dann - thanks for the feedback. The only XP you can get from Hacking today is Hacking jobs, which drop XP just like all other job types. More job types in the Matrix would help expand that footprint, and make it a more viable way to gain XP, but still not straight up "XP for hacking."
