So I'm playing my first Crazy vs 2 xeno. 64x128 map, year 7. I haven't seen the xeno yet. I've got 15 colonies, the bollish Have 5 worlds level 16 and xytox 10 level 20. I'm making 3k profit a turn, 150rp and got up to planetary construction 9
It seems to me like this game is in the bag. Do you experienced guys think the xeno will pose any challenge? The map is so big it'll probably take me several days of real time to hunt them down and kill them and if it's going to be a boring extermination, I'd rather start a new game that might be more interesting

I dunno, they may be building up for a strike on your border worlds. Be careful, as I have seen them probe my defenses and capitalize on weak border defense.

I have seen this a few times. The next time you see increased xeno activity they will either spam colonize like 5-8 planets each, or come a knocking on your door.
Since your playing on Crazy difficulty, the Xeno ships are stronger and there will be more of them when you finally see them.

Can you post the Xeno AI Details from the Teams List? Which AI and what level and points they are at?

Yeah, that's actually two reports of Xenos being lazy recently, both at levels high enough where they should be very dangerous.

I've had this happen quite a bit, but only on normal and below.

This might fit here...
On the 112 world map. Turn 408 (current. AE 8.44)
I have 35 colonies with 5 colony ships in route to expand more.
The 3 Xeno are not expanding.
For the past 150 or so turns. Zenga 27 Worlds. 215554 XP. Level 38. I have moved a scouting ship right into orbit of one of their colonies and no response.
Krangg 14 Worlds. 70143 XP. Level 26. I have destroyed 2 of their outpost colonies, and am preparing to hit another. They build ships that immediately go in the opposite direction of my colonies and attack force.
Dark Terrox 23 Worlds. 181400 XP level 36. I am building 4 new colonies right on their doorstep. They have 4 ships in orbit for each of their 6 places in my vicinity and they do not move. Not even when I put a fighter adjacent to their ships.
I have noticed a similar occurrence of the Xeno just stagnating and stopping activity at or around turn 250 or so on 3 of my last 4 plays. (Two of which on Hard)Seeing as these are on separate devices I figured I would mention something. It looks like the Xeno who have not been engaged yet are inactive or idle. And the one that I have engaged (they upset my expansion plans!) are just running away, though they might be fortifying a deeper placed colony.

Yes i see this too but ONLY if i did NOT see a single ship yet and i'm not expanding rapidly. i think the xeno just don't care yet but as soon as either one of those happens they attack. Well the second one just increases how fast they expand

I know this thread is pretty old, but just wanted to say that I think I'm having this issue also. The date is 4.20 AE and I haven't seen a single Xeno ship. It probably has more to do with my game settings but I thought I'd mention it just in case. I am playing on the 100x100 (90 Worlds) map on Normal against only 1 Xeno so there's a very good chance that they're just too far away from me to be able to find me. I have 10 colonies and they have 6 out of 90 worlds so there is a lot of empty space out there.
Most likely we're just too far apart, but I thought I'd mention it anyway. I've had at least 2 or 3 of the 'increased activity' rumors and still nothing. I'm against the Red Zorga race and I had heard they were aggressive.

lazarus - that is a very big map. If they aren't near you, increased activity rumors won't bring their warships to your door (yet) but they will colonize more aggressively.

One risk of this game setup is that they get ahead of you, and when you do finally encounter them they crush you

I recommend making a fighter design with 11+ in sensors and absolute minimal weapons, no armor at all. Build 4 and send them in different directions exploring. Every map has the outermost squares near the border totally empty, so I like to send two in opposite directions mapping the edge, then the other two through the middle. Like Cory said, if they out grow you they'll stomp you when you do finally meet. Best to look for good places to expand and a natural choke point between you and them so you can prepare a defense. Are you doing rim, rinze, or degla?
