Sorry for lack of info on my part. Playing on PC WIN10 and the issue affects pretty much all clickable buttons on every screen in game when it occurs. Generally the "working" part of any clickable when this happens is confined to a small lower left hand corner of the visible button. almost like the actually clickable area with associated pop up is running at a different resolution than the rest of the graphics though that is just a wild guess on my part.

Having a weird issue where instead of being able to click anywhere on icons like Crew/Ship/Menu etc. I have to find a small corner of said Icon where the pop up identifier for it displays and click. This issue is intermittent and exiting game and restarting it corrects it some of the time but not always. Not trying to speed play but trying to find the exact minute position for my curser quickly becomes tedious.

Salvager talent lvl 15 Name: / Description: Tow a defeated Xeno ship to a templar holding. Price determined by Ship integrity Interesting concept. Not sure how we'd adjudicate it, as there isn't any towing capability of ships. Maybe just a bonus to scrapping a xeno ship. Isn't there already a talent that lets you "salvage" a Xeno ship for Artifacts? Granted you still need to have a way to turn those artifacts into credits but seems like we already have a few ways to turn Xeno ships into big paydays, not that more ways wouldn't be cool. Just worry that as more talents get added in the overlaps become so great that individual jobs start to lose their uniqueness is all. Could already make a case about several cases of overlapping talents diluting various jobs mostly because they are virtually identical and available at the same level for separate jobs. Sometimes I take advantage of such overlaps but many times I'm left trying to find different talents to replace such overlaps.

It is open source IIRC. So if you or any friends you have know the language it is written in, I'm sure it would welcome contributions. I'm basically clueless about actual coding. About the closest I ever came was some very basic HTML web page stuff way back in the mid 90s that I've mostly forgotten by this point lol.

Just got this neat app and it's great so big thanks to the creator. That said it is missing a few things like the Scavenger job. Also it shows max number of talents for a level 40 Captain (44 job ranks) as 15 while the WIKI says they have 16 talents so one of them needs to be corrected. again thanks for the great app, hope it will continue getting updated.

Might get some Fallout games...maybe...
Battletech looks interesting, but won't get it. 1st of all it requires 8GB ram which my bargain computer doesn't have (and I'm wondering why a turn based game made by the people who did the Shadowrun games needs 8GB of ram anyways.) Second seeing a lot of very mixed reviews about it, some negative reviews are obviously just people that have personal issues or like to hate in general but others I've read raise some real game related concerns, even some of the positive reviews raise issues and suggest waiting for further development of the game. Finally even at 20% off the price is a bit steep for my budget and if it ends up being like other titles managed by Paradox we can expect multiple high priced DLCs to start popping up for it that will make extensive changes to the base game so it becomes a real money sink.

daveal you can have a very good exploration dice pool more or less from start of game, but like most other things you have to focus on that as a main part of your game strategy which means your likely going to suffer in other areas. What do you recommend for getting an exploration pool early? Obviously we can assign our officers to be explorers/exoscouts, and (sometimes) pick up exoscout recruits. If you don't know to put a retired explorer as one of your first four contacts, you will be stuck. What other tricks are there to reach the OP state of exploration? For all the other games, your main crew will have a chance to pick up almost all the good talents, but that is not possible for exploration. Obviously if going full on Explorer as main focus then when building template Explorer Captain set Skills to B or A so you can drop 10 into explore. I prefer a C contacts and take Retired Explorer, Prince, Politician and Military Commander because they all offer Missions and Introductions, plus can recruit specialists from them and cover my bases for getting permits, ranks etc. Give one or more of your officers Explorer/Exo-Scout jobs and your already getting a decent sized pool. Look at your starting officers and crew, decent chance you'll find some with bonus Explore skill, if not an officer either look at replacing one of your other officers or tag them (give star color) for promotion when space is available. Also since you can have up to 3 jobs selecting a starting job for your Captain such as Smuggler or MO and giving them Explorer as a second job could be a viable option for some min/maxing of Attributes and building other useful skill pools. (personally not really wild about the Explorer starting traits a moral booster is rather meh for your Captain since they aren't going to jump ship and while Device Freak is interesting it's unlikely to have any impact early game.) Finally don't be afraid to restart game. First thing I do when I start a new game is look at my crew, if They have a lot of unwanted traits or a distinct lack of desired traits then I'll quit and start a new captain until I get the sort of starting crew I want. Here's an example template I threw together.

That said the dice pools are the easy things to build, what takes time is getting the talents to be successful at whatever card game is required for a given activity and honestly unless your running a very large ship with lots of leveled up crew you more or less have to specialize in one or two specific activities and just do your best to avoid the other types of card games.

Just started playing game again (thanks fallen) and starting the campaign missions for Estelle. At least in my game there seems to be a disconnect between in-game dialogue and ST Lore. According to the lore there is no FTL communications allowed. Yet after agreeing to go talk to the Cadar Prince (4 Jumps away on my map) and going strait to him with only stops for fuel/repairs along the way, he greets me with the statement that Estelle had sent a message to him to expect me. I either want whatever ship/crew that message traveled with or to know if they have the equivalent of the "Pony Express" system of small fast messenger ships that run in relays carrying Message traffic around the galaxy at a faster rate than a single ship can cover the same distance. Otherwise that dialogue and other similar dialogues with other NPCs needs to be reworded/redone so it doesn't conflict with the lore.

Like the basic idea that resistor gave, would like to lobby for the contact to not only have the seasoned crew available but also provide 1 or 2 of said crews traits to the Captain looking to hire them. "Say Mr Smythe any idea why that hotshot pilot (level 12) is currently grounded?" Captain Stormraven asks as he views the data file. "Well seems her last captain was a bit of a puritan and she enjoyed spending too much time in the Spice Halls (Spice Addict trait)," Smythe replied. Thinking that way you might at least have a chance to catch a really unwanted trait before spending the big money and having your otherwise carefully built crew suddenly disrupted by the new unknown veteran spacer.

daveal in almost all cases you've listed the talents are not only of different levels but come from different classes. Giving them different names helps captains especially with larger crews keep track of who's used what talents and when they will refresh. If your playing very combat heavy then your likely going to want lots of duplicates of those talents in your crew anyways so you can always have at least a few available for any given fight no matter how long it's been since your last battle. Finally in the case of Signature Homing and Raking Fire they are both level 1 gunner talents and because they have slightly different effects and different names you can stack them on enemies for improved effect. If they were combined under one name then you'd lose the ability to stack, likewise changing level for one of them would make that option less appealing for a player to take unless the talent was changed.

Like the overall layout but Javat (2Q) and Mok(3Q) would be extremely challenging. st-v01-40-6-68254092
