After taking Val onto my ship and making for a nearby Quadrant, we were ambushed by assassins in an Urban Zone. Unfortunately, I was unable to stop the level 19 brigands and Val was killed. I solemnly made my way back to return her remains to her homeworld, but when I got there, I could not initiate the dialog about her death with Calagan.
Ok i started woth voltas (never faced them yet) and with them i seem to hit a lot more now. I respected vraes. The only thing is they seem to hit him more often but thats ok for now. Least i can hit more often and wipe them out quicker thanks for the help. My gear is a lot better now
Glad to hear about the gear improvements and that you are getting more hits. Keep the pedal to the floor on this. You can keep improving gear near constantly to keep your accuracy high, but it takes work. Some groups have it easier than others, as matrim pointed out, due to the Talents available. Top level Choking Ash and top level Ethereal Anguish will help you a lot here.
You've identified a problem with your group build (Accuracy) so you should start making some changes to work on it
I've double checked those monsters and they are right within the balancing curve. If you're having issues hitting them and don't make some corrections, I expect you'll keep finding sets of monsters that give you fits of missing.
Suggestions -- 1) Absolutely start crafting now! You should have a nice pile of Bloodstones if you've waited this long. When you reach the last town in the game, they are up for sale, so not actually limited. 2) Look at the rest of your gear. Are you including enough Accuracy in the gear for characters who are missing? 3) Look at really powerful buffs like Natural Mastery. It is sooo good -- damage, major accuracy boost, and defenses. 4) What is your primary attack Talent with each character? Is it high enough level?
Crafting and Respec are your friends. If you Respec, do one character at a time, fight a bit and then see how you like it.
Our latest update tonight strikes another blow against the v2.1.x family of the dev roadmap. In addition, we are working our way through the list of known story bugs as we prepare to start adding large chunks of new story to the playable game.
If you like the updates and appreciate the work we are doing every day, please share Star Trader: Frontiers with a friend and help us by leaving a review!
No one can rival Alta Mesa in pilots, ships or starports. In their honor, we've updated the Starport Dry Dock screens to give much more detail about each ship you could launch or customize -- its firepower as well as its real armor, shields and engines stats.
We've also improved the flow of the Starport upgrade screens, improving the filter, making it clear when there are no items in the current filter and improving the comparison feature. Also, you'll no longer see the same component in the list (replacing Barracks 1 will no longer show Barracks 1).
In the ship weapons display -- we've restored the Critical % display and added the Crippling %. Every time an enemy is hit with a weapon, the Crippling % is rolled to see if the enemy ship should suffer a debuff based on the weapon type -- Electrical Fires, Crew Panic and more. No new rules -- just getting the data displayed into the game!
We're working with a lot of players and a lot of saved games to try resolve all the known story bugs. We really appreciate everyone reporting and sending in saved games. Once we get through this pile, we're moving on to new story elements and finishing the arcs that are incomplete.
While we've fixed a pile of issues, there are still bugs we're working on. The biggest outstanding issues that are on our list for the next update are cases in which Prince Faen disappears during the story and the situation in which the Arbiter refuses to accept completed quests.
v2.0.63 - 1/16/2018
- Improved display of ship status in Dry Dock to include engine, firepower and more - Updated and Improved Starport Component Filters - Ship Weapon display now includes Critical % and Crippling % - Further improved types of resources found while exploring based on planet type - Fixed issue taking De Rivesh story mission to hunt pirates - Improved Personal Objectives around Kober Volpane storyline, possible dead-end case - Fixing map seeds that could cause Aetaan Char to be indie - Improved flow of Stranded Merchant missions and objectives - Fixed mission count in Quadrant Map hovers
Have you considered picking up more magical weapons or crafting gear? Those are okay weapons, but I'm definitely concerned about them being mundane and not having really powerful accuracy.
Are there certain group members missing more than others?
You didn't share your groups level. It may be an area you simply need to avoid for now and return to when you are a bit higher level. Areas have min and max levels, so if you are below the minimum level, the monsters are going to be significantly higher than you.
My version of Star Traders RPG is v5.2.1, I can see there have been many updates to around version 6, but the App store is nt showing any updates. I have the elite edition and everything unlocked, why is mine not updating?
I came across the issue as I am trying to recruit officers, but the "recruit" button does not do anything, and I have over $400K so I don't think money is a problem. Only a problem for scouts, veterans, Templars, but not for pilot, military, spy, and political. hoping it is just an update issue
Thanks for the post. Our apologies, the App Store version of Star Traders RPG is a challenging project for us. The game is now 6 years old and we are updating when and where we can, but we have no committed updates to the iOS version on the schedule at this time. ST RPG on iOS was built using an off-shoot of our game engine that we are no longer using. All games after ST RPG on iOS (Heroes of Steel, Templar Battleforce, Star Traders: Empires) use a single game engine that supports both Android and iOS at the same time, without having to maintain a completely separate game.
