Nice! I had the image of Han Solo and Chewy in my head when I first thought of making a smuggler.

Cadar all the way. They're ruthless bastards, and you can always rely on the fact that you'll pretty much be in the best warships. Yay for murdering masses!

You've made a pretty damn good game out of this. Keep up the good work. Just don't give up on the game any time soon. =P

So yesterday I decided, for probably the 30th time, to start a new game. This time I bumped it up from Normal to Demanding, just to see how horribly my captain would die.
Now then, for an ironic and unexpected twist, I'm actually playing better than I was on Normal. I've got far more money, I managed to swipe a Cutlass Class ship from a pirate(I'm a Military Officer). That was LEAGUES better than the Vae Victus. And much better gas mileage too.
Anyway, I sided with Cadar from the get-go, and instead of trying to keep the peace with several factions, I said to hell with them all. Now I just zoom around doing bounty contracts, random killing sprees, and whatever else I can in the name of the Cadar Syndicate!
Me happy.

Ah. I suppose that would if I could either find a good ship to buy, or could sustain credits long enough to afford a new one.

That's a fair answer. That is something I had forgotten about. I I still think it makes sense to have a method of watching the moods of the various factions. Or perhaps gain updates whenever you visit the palace/spice hall, or at least from the politics officer. The toasts only appear after the fact.

How does one go about gaining access to the dry dock? I've had my rep with Cadar close to 100 and never saw that option highlight. I've also had a terrible time finding ship upgrades and even new ships that surpass the vae victus.

I would seriously consider placing in cooldown periods between war/alliance changes.
Another part of this would be a way to track current events that actually affect the sudden change of heart within the politics. I mean, I realize this is a game, but even so it makes very little sense that 2 factions would be at war one minute, then suddenly a peaceful solar alliance, then spy wars, then trade alliance, then assassinations. I would personally like to see how things are shifting before the sudden "So-and-so have formed an alliance!" toast pops up.
With that said, I would think that there'd be more stability within the factions governments. You have the Syndicates and the Houses. It really doesn't make a whole lot of sense that Rychart would ally with Thulun and Javat and go to war with Cadar.

What would be the point in purchasing the storage space if it also costs you to use it each time? I would imagine that there would be complimentary storage space included with the dry dock bays.

While we're on the subject of officers, another change I'd like to suggest would be giving each officer more of a role on the ship. For example, I'd like to see the First Mate do more than complain I attacked/completed a mission that involved Independants, or that I'm low on Water-Fuel/Luxury Rations.
To go even further, I'd like to use the Military Officer as another example. Perhaps give him the ability to unlock specific ship upgrades, allow us to buy ammo at Star Docks that normally allow players to, etc. As it is now, he seems to do nothing for the player. I know it says he provides a bonus in combat, but honestly I have not noticed any difference in combat.
These are all just examples, but I think you can see where I'm going with this.

Hi there, new guy here. First off, wanted to say that I fell in love with the game, played the trial version for about a week then decided to buy the Elite version last night. Keep up the damn good work!
Secondly, I'm running the game on a HTC Inspire. It runs great, no issues or crashes or anything.
I really have nothing of value to add to the discussion here, unfortunately. Once I have more experience with the game(and don't have to restart so much due to really bad decisions or uncertainty of what to do next), I'll let you know.
