Hi everyone, new Star Trader here. I noticed in my faction status that I am ".. known across Clan Space as a Fugitive of Royal Justice..". I'm not sure how I got this mark? I usually play nice with most ships I meet, but have done a few assassinate and bounty hunting missions. At the moment I have +reputation with all factions. How do I get rid of this infamy? Thanks

Hi makazi ! First thing first : welcome to the forum About your problem : normally, you should only see that if one faction (at least) is on the minus rep with you. I'm not sure if you can go to the point where you earn that and still go back to good rep without it removed. Maybe slayernz will answer that better than I am.

Thanks beuns . I do have positive reputation with all factions at the moment. And I have a military rank, trade permit and death warrant from all factions too. Might it be that I play nice with all factions that has made someone mad at me at some point? I guess a more important question is, does it matter that I am known as a "Fugitive of Royal Justice"?

Being searched will increase the probability of encounter with bounty hunters and military patrols but nothing more I think.

makazi welcome to the forum! One of the things that you can do to help shake your reputation is to change ships. You don't have to keep the new ship for long - fly it around a bit. Get some mileage under its hull. The game resets a few of the flag attributes when you change ships, because clearly the 27 forms and 12 documents you have to complete for a ship title transfer confuses the bureaucracy. Probably only De Valtos could keep up with the paper trail, but that takes time, and time = money. Thulun is very hoity toity, and would possibly have tried, but it is beneath them to care about the minutiae. Steel Song can't read, and unless you carefully did crayon drawings of you in old ship, and you in new ship, they just stare blankly until you give them another teapot to fire out their torp launchers. IF changing ships doesn't clear the fugitive status, then you cooooooould just attack Steel Song until they go down into -ve rep, then buy a pardon from them. or not. Attacking Steel Song a lot would result in the fugitive status being legitimate, but attacking Steel Song is also a very legitimate activity.

Darn, I knew I shouldn't have made those crayon drawings ;-)
Thanks for the info on changing ships. I'll try that and see what happens.

makazi - welcome to the forum! Hope you're enjoying ST. Glad slayernz could provide a great answer. You've got both devs on here daily, so let us know if we can help.

I got derailed also, lol. I just tried with a new ship, but the status remains the same. I am not friendly with syndicates anymore though, but have positive rep with the clans. I figured it didn't matter much at my difficulty setting anyways, so I went on a rampage to unlock a few things instead of worrying about my infamy. Not only a fugitive, but also most wanted... The dark side can be tempting sometimes

makazi : you should know two things : 1- Star Traders is made for you to be free, so while being in the + rep with everybody is nice, being in the -rep with everybody is also nice (a bit harder though ). The devs have said once that they (or at least one of them... ) play with 3 faction friendly and 3 as absolute enemies. So, don't worry if some faction hates you, it's cool. 2- on this forum any thread can be derailed. We even have a Kingdom of Derailing with a Queen of Derailing ( Officer Genious) a Prince of Derailing (myself) a scribe ( ntsheep) who decide if a thread is derailed enough to be recorded as one of "the best derailed thread" and a knight ( slayernz). This said, everyone on this forum can derail at any moment (and is invited to do so ). So, asking to "stay on topic" is irrelevant (the gif is nice nonetheless )
