Hi all,
I've seen it implied in the wiki guide that multiple ships can be owned simultaneously. Is this true? I admit that I've never tried to buy one without a trade in for cost reasons (and it simply never occurred to me that I'd be able to have a 'backup'!) .
IF you can own multiple, how would you switch the active one?
Thanks.

Each planet that has a Star Dock has a "dry dock" if it is large enough.
If you "Purchase" the ship, enter the dry dock to change ships.
Urban Zone > Star Dock > Military Base > Dry Dock

to answer the question, yes you can have lots of ships.
each one can be upgraded differently.
you can keep them at different planets.
each one has it's own crew and morale
each one has it's own cargo, and you can transfer cargo

I'd like to know if you could get a feature where you could hire captains for these extra ships. Build yourself a navy. Buy yourself an independent world. Develop your own military. Get to the point where you are a serious contender. Invade the great houses. Take over the galaxy.

leuthesius -- that is a totally different game engine. One I am slowly working on, but it doesn't really fit inside the same 8 megs as ST RPG

You can't get a decent captain for only 8 megs. They'll all fly like Thulun captains and be begging to be shot down.

More Thulun jokes? Really? After all they have done for the quadrant? I say sir, you have some nerve coming into this spice hall and talking like that

True - they do help seed the quadrant with stuff from their cargo holds (after you easily defeat them of course). They are a little dogmatic about their sense of honor though. They prattle on so much even after you defeat them that you are simply forced to destroy their ship to stop their incessant whinging.

Just a quick question and this seems to be an appropriate thread. I am playing ST:RPG and going to move to the Elite version now that my phone troubles have ended. I know you can have multiple ships, but I seem to be limited to 4 in ST:RPG. Can you have more than 4 in the Elite version? I tend to collect things in RPGS, and well…the ships are shiny.

you can have 20 per character in Elite.
when we release player base expansion that will increase the limit to something like 40

Awesome…but makes me sad at the same time. So many ships to steal, and so little space to store them. Thank you.
