The spawns in Gloomer's path are of the same stock as bone pass spawns. If they are around level 40 they are extremely challenging (around 80-90% hit rate and crazy damage of 400-650). For instance you can compare the wolf spawns in either zone and you will find them to be exactly the same.

fully jumped into Episode 3 now... I now see the Granthorn Mines on this map :-) I made it to the City of the Dead (Southwest Road), then decided to backtrack and use my really cool log to get through Bone Pass. Currently fighting my way up the ridge, can't wait to discover what's in the caves ahead! Wyatt, is that where you are hiding? contributor thank you for these wonderful maps! Ever since playing Zork/Dungeon back in the 70's, I've been a map kind of person to progress through this type of game, and glad I don't have to build one from scratch...

Shouldn't there be a link between Platinum Peaks and Orso's Gate? Or I'm imagining things?

You've got to defeat the tower first. Then gate opens.

Should you finish the City of the Dead first or last? Is there a general sequence of areas that people do?

Should you finish the City of the Dead first or last? Is there a general sequence of areas that people do? Last in Act III is best IMHO, and that seems to be the consensus around here.

Not in the wolf den but in the zone leading to the brothers and in bone pass. The spawns in bone pass are especially difficult as they are mobs up scaled from episode 2 instead of the mobs you fight in episode 3. Far more accurate and more damage, harder to hit too. The orcs are deadly (500+ damage per hit on nightmare and they hit often) but it's the wolves that really scare me in that zone (400ish damage and they are almost 100% hit on a tank Kincaid). Be sure to take those spawns slowly, they caught me by surprise, I could not Selen tank in that zone because her dodge tanking did not work. Wow, Nightmare is THAT hard? 500-plus damage? I don't see that even from boss mobs. How do people survive then?

And that is why Kincaid is the best tank in the game. Sure parry gives you certainty. In testing Vraes and Selen, their tanking can and will fail.
