Just finished episode one on hard for the first time playing with the vanilla characters. 100% of map explored, all secrets, quests, and kills.
Score: 148,118,630 Deaths: 7
Vreas level 18 CON/Blades tank build. phalanx shield 9, SSw 3, NM 1
Kyera level 17 CON/Lore offtank build. Tears 5, warders 2, EA 2, smite 4, breeze 1
Kjarten level 17 INT/Sorc, ash 5, fireball 6, burning blades 2.
Tamilin level 17 DEX/bow, DI 7, aimed shot 3, farsight 2
Favorite boss fight: Groth, I killed the orcin that triggers the next stage of the fight very first thing... omg!
Favorite level: Barracks? (The level with the hallway ambush and all the doors of death.)
Favorite talent: Phalanx shield. Phalanx shield. Phalanx shield!
Runner up: Deadly intuition.
Talent point i most wanted back: the one i spent in purifying breeze. I *never* had to use this.
Talent i most wanted to try but didnt fit my build: Berserk rage with a 2H mace.
Talent i am most looking forward to in ep2: firestorm!

Favorite one shot kills: Tamilin crit killing the hounds

Talent point i most wanted back: the one i spent in purifying breeze. I *never* had to use this. You should, TBH. Ratkin curses are nasty, cleansing them makes the fight that much easier. And you can spend less points in meatshield and more - into something more useful. I can trust it only if you got a lot of spectacular armor/damage upgrades. Never found that one >.< |

I must be doing something terribly wrong lol. I just finished episode 1 on hard with 0 deaths, thought I had explored everything, was only level 16 on all characters and only had 103 mil points. Had way less gold and potions as well. And never found the +1 move ring! What did I do wrong! Lol

thehowler - You're probably not doing anything wrong, per se, but you definitely missed some content. Did you fully explore the West Road out of Oskahold? There are two dungeons there that could be easily missed. Fully exploring each map also might trigger several encounters you may have missed.

Yea i really have no idea what I'm doing lol. I've only been through episode 1 twice and barely made it through episode 2. So I must have be either impatient or blind. Or both lol. May just have to restart now lol

There are a few set pieces, but there's no guarantee that you'll get a specific piece in an episode. |

Oh I've looked through them, and they are amazing. But finding the secret doors and all that seems beyond my ability. The game is really complex!

I originally reviewed the game comparing it to classics like might and magic 6, original diablo, and (for some reason i get that vibe of) warcraft iii, but decided that the game stood well on its own merit. I tell everyone on the infinite black to check this out too. So what happens if i didnt elect giova as a baron? I did, but what would have been the consequences if i had said no? Update going into ep2.... My mage died the very first pull in the storerooms.. And again a few pulls after... Tamilin got crushed over and over unlocking a door... (Btw since that was the first time i had to restore, found out the hard way doors stay unlocked after a restore!) Anyways my death count is now 14. Lol. The archers are now the most deadly mobs in the game! I am being cursed now (good thing i have breeze). In all of episode one i was cursed maybe twice. Just in storerooms i have had to decurse three or four times. Potion use.. I am using potions every single fight now, ep1 i never needed to. I am seriously considering getting the ranged unlock skill, not excited about having to waste skill points to beef it up though (that is still disabled right?) Suddenly all my dps went waaaay down, enemy armor went way up. CON for KJ is suddenly my new focus, i only wonder if it isnt too late.. 200hp or so and he gets two shotted by archers regularly. Giant rats are still the most horrible mobs in the game. The game really stepped it up so far in the beginning of ep2, done with the store rooms and about to head out. I really wish i had Fyona in my crew how ever i gave Kyera the armor from the storerooms to make her a little less like jelly. Anyhow, off we go. |

Yeah, the storerooms and their doors are a really rough introduction to episode two, especially on your first play through. In my opinion, if you're playing with Tamilin you have to get ranged unlock, just for this level.
