Note that I didn't ask "what faction specific buildings support at least one pop". I asked specifically about faction based housing. I can't consider an academy as housing or hab units. Those are resource structures that provide one pop as a fringe benefit, they aren't hab units.
The steel fortress is different, as I mentioned. That seems like a hab unit.

More advanced faction upgrades like naval academy 4 or trade academy 4 will provide more population. Besides, by advanced housing I don't know if Cory means Hab 7, 8 and 9 or new upgrade types (ie CP housing 1, 2 and 3). And like I said before, I dont mind factions having. the best hab units with a certain bonus (ie cadar having the best CP housing) but population with differing secondary bonuses should be available to everyone, even if it isn't as good as specific faction housing.

I think differing bonuses for everyone and better by faction would be ideal, yes.

The question at hand is what to do with the basic "Hab Unit" upgrade sequence.
Each upgrade can have up to 20 Levels, so the question is what to do with Hab Unit 7, 8, 9 ... etc
The Core population upgrades I mentioned have a roadmap that represent Faction specific habitations.
At this point, it is a close race between TP and RP. From a game standpoint, I am leaning towards TP as most easily understood.

I would argue against more TP. It seems like every upgrade eventually adds some amount of Trade Points. Thisonly leads to more violent swings in income as the player deals with bickering factions. It would make for a more interesting time if something other than *more* TP was added.

Perhaps a combination of TP, RP and CP. As cities grow, they not only grow in trade potential, but in the ability to produce goods and become centers of scientific progress.

It would be best if advanced hab units had multiple secondary bonuses. Perhaps Hab unit 7 would have TP, then Hab unit 8 would add CP, Hab unit 9 would add RP, and by Hab Unit 12 there would be bonuses for every category from defense to TP to spice.

Call it a Star Trader's intuition, but I get this strange feeling that these advanced hab units are going to be released right after Cory Trese and fallen return from break.

If we have to vote for just one, I'd have to say RP, because who doesn't need RP. Plenty of other upgrades grant tp. But RP is always, always needed
