Any chance of grapple also being a defensive option for cyberswords?Maybe give no defensive bonuses but you take the opportunity of an enemy melee attack to kick/push/shove/grapple them off balance thus costing them ap.Maybe not the -2ap or -4ap of the offensive version but instead possibly -1ap to -2ap range with the same style brawling check.Also make it usable only once per turn so you have to choose to use it on offense or on defense.

sterik - we're definitely hoping to add a set of defensive talents to the different professions! Giving a melee-only grapple defense sounds great for extra AP.

Gunslinger-Quick Draw-Pay regular weapon AP cost to get a defensive shot in before your attacker gets his attack,maybe killing/stunning him before he gets his attack off.I just brainstorm,no idea how balanced these would be.
