I just blockaded that planet per Steel Song clan orders (that was one hell of a long flight...had to sink no less than 22 Syndicate warships to get there)
I suddenly got a message "alliance oath violated, rank lost"
Isn't Ravlin a neutral planet?
Also...
How does Steel Song clan stay alive? They have a grand total of...two planets and on the other side of the galaxy. What is it preventing a syndicate conquest on one of the world?
What is their secret recipe to staying alive? Ninjas? Mechas? Catgirls? Ninja-catgirls with Mecha gear?

In Free, yes, they are spread long and thin, but in Elite, they own the entire bottom-left half of the map, and some strategic space in the middle of the map (surrounded by red sector space). When you're flying on vapor , having access to Xenox is a useful haven.
But yeah ... in the grand scheme of things, I wouldn't want to be Steel Song's strategic adviser.

I'll just note, for the record: Cat-girl ninjas riding mechs are pretty near unbeatable.
House Thulun thinks they're just too dramatically awesome to blow up, and can't attack.
The Cadar Syndicate's leaders are in awe of the missile spreads a mech can get, and cat-girl ninjas have awesome accuracy, they'd rather court them than attack them. (after all, just imagine a missile-cruiser with mechs walking the surface tossing ninja-guided missile swarms in space, it's practically a Cadarian wet-dream)
DeValtos knows how many spacebucks it takes to build mechs, and (to the credit) how much it would take to rebuild them, so although their "Bribe a Cat-girl with cat-nip and ninja-treats" hasn't gotten any takers yet they continue to persevere in trying to buy their loyalty and don't want to invade until the programme has had a chance to prove it's merits.
Javat is just too practical, all those mechs (and ninja-swords) take a lot of metal to make and Javat mining worlds get beaucoup bucks supplying that metal to them.
Lastly there's the Rychart Syndicate, who out there really believes that a Rychart spy could take a cat-girl ninja in any kind of fight? (You say "I do"? Really? Have you seen the bodies of Rychart spies returning to their homeworld, have you noticed that they all died from claws and swords? Do you really expect the next spy to be any different?)
I find no surprise in the un-conquerable-ness of Steel Song worlds. Until they stop growing catnip in their fields I think they're pretty safe......

We have no chick-specific captains out there. that would be awesome - amazonian class. +10 bonus to Charisma (unless she's related to the Alien hunter) ...
