I feel like starting an opinion war so here it goes...
My overall favorite has to be EA, with pinning shot a close second
for 2AP EA 6+ lets you shut down the battlefield with a perfect trifecta of pain
as far as cursing attacks go Pinning shot is a ranged aoe buffet starting at lvl 4 with -ap, -dodge, and -parry

I like Selen's melee curse a lot. Combined with a 1AP Dex blade, it is one of the most cost effective curses.
It doesn't scale as well into late game as AE, but it is very good early and mid.

Pinning Shot is by far my favorite. It allows her to do so many things, freeing up the party to focus on other things, plus it is a crazy effective AoE early on. Plus it pairs really well with my current setup of Strickening, ES, and Thundering Blades. Killer. Selen has the best curses in the game IMO.

The downside I have with selen's curses is that they only last 3 turns, which on nightmare is not sufficient in larger battles redhill keep on; but I love Dropping CA and then using punishing blades to take a troll down.
But EA 10 is godlike! Huge investment, but worth it.

Choking ash and pinning shot are my favorite. Both just do so much to help the team.

I must say though, Strickening is becoming my new favorite- honestly it's more effective than armor stripping, seeing that in the end it gives negative 16 resistance to all elements, effectively adding 32 damage, plus removing standard resistance almost completely. Add in a -dodge component and either Burning Blades or Thundering Blades and you have some serious damage being put out. I haven't combined Ash with Strickening, yet...

Choking ash and pinning shot are my favorite. Both just do so much to help the team. I was so tempted to fireball the archers at the Gatehouse fight in Episode 1 Act 2. However, I resisted the urge and used choking ash on 2 T groups as they converged over two turns, and Vraes and Tamilyn turned them to mincemeat while Kyera healed up. Playing on Hard, I took out the main guy there in two rounds. So it's got to be Choking Ash for me!

Strickening scales really well into the late game, but generally to maximize it requires a concentrated effort to achieve elemental damage via gear.
Ash is very powerful in early and late game and is a great support curse with no external requirements to maximize.

My choice? Vincent's Flash Freeze combined with Frigid Air. Cost effective in SP. Both are aoe covering a larger area than Etheral Anguish at lower levels Frigid air can reach cloud size. Combo reduces number of enemy attacks and reduces dodge to allow better penetration of magic attacks(flash freeze), reduces archer accuracy and damage from melee as well as ranged(frigid air) in a large area.

I am a big fan of Selen's Punishing Blades coupled with Choking Ash. Both strip armor from targets and I generally keep them both at a high enough level to remove all the armor from trash mobs. Having two -armor curses works well cause I can stack them on the meatier targets to really get the damage going against them.
Choking Ash drops parry and dodge on top of the armor stripping, making it my go to curse.
Punishing Blades follows up as my support curse, dropping armor more as well as reducing damage a bit.
For later game I am currently using Meteoric Shockwave which is nice cause it has got a large AoE and reduces enemy accuracy and damage. Doesn't hurt that both Choking Ash and Meteoric Shockwave scale off of Conjuration!

Strickening. Terrific additional damage, up to about 100 points per hit, plus Dodge debuff. It's hard to beat that.
EA is strong, but it got competition in its home ground with Flash Freeze. Ash is another obvious damage enhancer. I'd always go with either Strickening or Ash.
Cursing attacks on the other side are something I avoid because they have to connect in order to work. No hit, no curse.

I prefer EA over flash freeze because it reduces all accuracy not just ranged as well as ap and dodge; of course you can always run vincent and kyera together with some combination of talents for ultimate crowd control. I have to admit I haven't used strickening a lot I think I'm going to try it out on my next try at an all melee team. Cory Trese to clarify are you saying Punishing blades is one of you're favorites?

crimsonking - You should really rethink your stance on cursing attacks. Sure, you gotta land the hit to actually get the curse but the attacks tend to be pretty light on the SP and almost always add some bonus to accuracy which increases the chance of the hit landing. Also, they have some really good affects.

crimsonking - You should really rethink your stance on cursing attacks. Sure, you gotta land the hit to actually get the curse but the attacks tend to be pretty light on the SP and almost always add some bonus to accuracy which increases the chance of the hit landing. Also, they have some really good affects. In general, the equvalent to most curse effects can be achieved through party buffs. The exception to this are AP curses, which reduce enemy offense potential by extreme amounts and Strickening as best damage enhancer by far. As for other curses, I prefer killing over cursing, as killing is the strongest debuff by far: reduces enemy offense potential by 100% and doesn't need to be recast. Most battles are like Fyona move 3 (+2 MP item) or 6, cast Strickening, Tam and Kincaid kill, Vincent AP debuffs or kills survivors, depending on the situation, survivors try to hit Kincaid and fail or attack Fyona and might hit, taking away some of her 900ish HP, repeat on turn 2, mob up on turn 3 if needed. I really don't need a third debuff as I focus on party buffs and quality self buffs to provide defenses and accuracy. Since I keep weapon attacks at 1 (except for Fyonas Holy Damage buffing attack) using cursing attacks won't provide much of a benefit anyway. Energy Storm might be the big exception but LS is too much cheaper, faster and has the far better target capacity. I play a very aggressive style and Fyona dies occasionally, but a more cautious style works as well.
