I throughly enjoyed chronicling my game last time, and I got a lot of good feedback about my stategies and tactics so I am doing it again! (But in it's own thread with a better title)
Map: Rinze 75x100 Map (99 worlds) 2 enemies
Factions: Cadar, Thulun, Javat
I started off on the bottom right corner of the rather big map and immediatly realised that my former stategy was not going to work (quicky finding and barricading the xeno off from as many worlds as possible). My starting area is rich in worlds and I quickly drop all three colonies and begin construction on mines (honestly the options are mine or hab so...) After that I send my ships out to search the cosmos. After my mines are complete I ran into an issue of not having enough cashflow to finance each world, so when able I focus on the Cadar and Javat worlds and let the Thulun give me some extra RP. Once unlocked i dropped a factory in each and a hab in the ones that needed it. (the factories were unecessary at this point be cause the prime starports act as one however I wanted to be prepared for expansion).
Turn 31: Explorer encoutered 3 hostile Sidtax mass driver ships in the northeastern area of the map. This most be the home of the Sidtax. Spies indicate that they already occupy 9 worlds. Lovely. ($838 in cash.$189 profit/turn)
Turn 36: Well seems that the Sidtax are kind of aggressive as they just stopped chasing my explorer. I'm thinking it's time to pull the ships back home. I have explored a good 1/3 of the map and found 35/99 worlds. A good start if nothing else. I have 3 colony ships in production. I know a lot of people feel that the biiger/harder/more enemies you have the more conservative you should be, however I feel the exact opposite.... But lets see if I can pull this off shall we?
Turn 50: Three new colonies build, three new colony ships in the making. Also oddly enough Javat is my most productive faction ATM. It's home world has 5 pop already and the others only have 2. Who would have thought?
Turn 55: A trade war already? Well at least I have 0 TP at the moment so it doesn't really affect me.
Turn 67: Another 3 colonies down brings me up to 9 planets. Sort of cash flow at the moment so besides basic nessecities I will be focusing on mines for awhile.
Turn 150: Another 6 colonies down in the last 10 turns leaves me at 15 colonies. Money has been averaging 350/turn though hopefully this will increase with more mines. Also starting to see a small increase in trade, though I just relised that I still had not yet build ANY exchanges... oops well lets put that down on the agenda .
