When QsD is 10 it really helps negate the overextending problem since she becomes nigh immune to many attacks, but I agree with others here that the melee only means a high need for mp boosts and DoS does not do it well enough on its own so gear mp buff is needed too. The real problem is not that SaS is not worth per se, just that things like punishing blows and frenzied blows are much better melee buffs overall, so you'd have to raise at least 3 other melee et al. talents (QsD, DoS plus PB or FB) before SaS really becomes worth it in my opinion.
I think SaS should come with +2 mp first round only for all levels of the talent or make her melee AoE first round - that would make it worth it for more builds without detracting from the allure of her other talents.

I know that this would mean a lot of work, but I had a brainstorm and wanted to share...
What if Selen's level 18 talent was like a flash bang... a way for her to gain stealth in the middle of a battle and gain a +crit%...or a chance to insta-kill on a crit. Maybe a 6AP backstab?
Thoughts anyone?

Thoughts anyone? Cool idea! Perhaps something for Legends of Steel. It isn't something that the Heroes of Steel stealth system could accommodate. Definitely looking to build on the enhancements we made to stealth rules in Battleforce of the next Steel game.

She could charge right into the front line melee enemies and hold her own. The problem as I see it. There are always archers behind the melee line some can shoot at distances greater than 6. So I worry she would get shot full of holes as she is the only target out there to shoot at until the rest of the party arrives in strength. Enemy ranged attacks that can fire at range 8 are particularly deadly.

Maybe it could work a bit more like juggernaut allowing +mp and/or ap upon a kill.
Edit: or maybe a 1 turn extend to the stealth round upon the first kill...

fallen, Cory Trese my suggestion: Make steel and shadow a buffing attack that increases Selens dodge.
