Hey Cory Trese, didn't you say you were gonna make it so that players couldn't colonize with only one hive and use the others as bait, as that would abuse the factions and the hives' original purpose? Yes, I continue to work towards rules that make this a sub-optimal strategy. Factions being permanently part of the political landscape does contribute to this. It is definitely a sub optimal strategy. It takes forever to getyour economy moving with one world, you lose two racial bonuses and politics are nasty. But, it is silly as an expert end.

Though there is still faction-specific research that can be gained, regardless if the faction has systems in play. Right?

azedenkae - yes, the Faction-specific technology is not about the Faction owning a planet, but they specific knowledge being available in your Quadrant.
