I think this one will be more like it. (Ranged Onslaught, anyone?)

Astonishing! turning his back, spinning around and splitting an incoming arrow! "We recommend you not try this at home" hahaha Roller skates and motorcycle made me think a little of why chariot archers were used. I'd take this guy over a chariot any day amazing gymnastics 3 arrows in .6 seconds with pinpoint accuracy, swordsman doesn't have a chance. The scene where he is sitting at a table and hits two human silhouettes from close range made me think of an old western movie where somebody gets caught cheating at poker the chairs fall back and it's time to slap leather. He has overcome the number one limitation an archer has, he doesn't have to stand in one place fire then move, he fires while moving jumping etc. Incredibly it only took him 10 years of practice to get this good. Great vid thanks for digging this one up.

I read this and the first thought that pops into my head is a cutscene, A shaman with 4 foot high pile of dead ratkin in a circle around him looking like porcupines. "He's ok, I guess"

HOLY SHIT! I have a compound bow and took Olympic style archery in college. It does not compare at all. He is absolutely amazing! Thanks fallen for sharing the video. I'm going to have to give same side shooting a try. I never thought about it, but it makes complete sense not only is it faster, but with both eyes open you would maintain depth perception. P.S. I think his acrobatics are a good argument to give tam a +mp/+dodge talent hint hint

Haha, did you watch the initial video? He is really fast! anrdaemon Her vid is very impressive but it appeared she stayed at the same range moving side to side, no forward, backward or diagonal movement certainly not running. fallen did you ever watch the original "Magnificent 7"? The scene where James Colburn is goaded into throwing a knife against the guy drawing his gun, gets his knife back then continues taking a nap.

John Robinson - no, I haven't seen that one, I'll have to add it to the list! CdrPlatypus - yeah, the narration over the piece was really interesting about techniques that are no longer used. He is extremely impressive!

fallen "Magnificent 7" the western is a Hollywood remake of the same plot from Kurasawa's "7 Samurai". (You ain't lived till you seen that one, also has an archer).

Thoroughly enjoyed that! I love the way there's no crap, no arsing around trying to move smoothly or put a finishing flourish in, he just runs, jumps, turns, aims, and shoots in no time at all. Although he's jumping around, it's just to show you how quickly he can aim and fire.
I was always into archery as a kid, and - as a total amateur and without any formal training - I always used same side shooting. I also never closed one eye, just like I wouldn't with a rifle. Seems odd to think most professionals do the opposite?
Also, yes, the commentary was excellent! And the various illustrations really support the history of the weapon and the techniques surrounding it's use. Strange this hasn't been studied more closely and accurately depicted.

did you watch the initial video? He is really fast! Of course. His performance is impressive, but I'd like to see him try that with 10-15 arrows.

anrdaemon Her vid is very impressive but it appeared she stayed at the same range moving side to side, no forward, backward or diagonal movement certainly not running. Seeing how effortlessly she's placing arrow after arrow into the same spot, over and over again, I do not doubt that she can repeat it in any move. (You can actually find more vids of her teacher, where they also practicing fast aim.) Though, if it would be me, I'd put quiver a good way down below shoulder line - it is apparent that she don't have enough space to draw the arrows over its border.

anrdaemon - thanks for the video share, another awesome archer. Really amazing ... as they say in the first video, before there were guns, a well-trained archer might have been the ultimate warrior.
