So I'm not really a hardcore brutal player but from what I've seen people prefer to knock out enemies instead of killing them. Does negative rep really make your life miserable?

Depends on whether 'killing all my enemies' is something you want more or less of. So in the early stages of the game, when you would much rather not have an encounter, because one cyan-and-brown dog can kill you, yes, negative rep is instant heat, and heat makes your life very full of encounters. Later on, you don't care as much, as, well it's just more of what you do best.
But the real reason to use the stun gloves (get the blue ones from Harken Pawn Brokers) is that they are the most effective way (for a not-Female 2) CK to take down enemies (who aren't Predator and Horizon Drones). All opponents in the game (with the exception of those drones) have MP which is less than or equal to their HP. So targetting their MP gets rid of them more efficiently.

You can also slap shockwaws on your hunds they zap stuff when they thrash. My hund Pumpkin takes out drones like this.

high negative rep prevents you of using 3 taxis because of high heat - but now we have more missions with mark to move across NBZ so much often we cant take any taxi at all new missions just make heat less uncomfortable in this term

Low heat is, essentially, the difference between wandering around gangland making money and wandering around gangland being assaulted by three idiots with planks of wood every ten minutes. Most of the time, it's more annoying than lethal.

The worst is that beating up said idiots will push up your universal heat, and suddenly that friendly territory next door is giving you the hairy eye.

My question about rep is this... I haven't been playing CK that long and I was wondering if you can have so much negative rep with a faction that you can't get jobs from them. And if so, how do you get the negative rep back to something manageable or back to zero so you can work for them?

I don't think your rep will ever stop you from being able to take jobs from them, but negative Rep can be dealt with by avoiding that faction, jobs against them, and lying low for a while and dropping off of their radar.

You'll be locked out of their VIP rooms, which will deny you a lot of the Connectors that each Faction can offer. Also, some Connectors that you reach by V-Chip will refuse to work with you.

fallen are there any ways to warm them back up to me or am I pretty much screwed if a faction hates me? Over the short term, no, they really don't like you. Over the long term, anything can be fixed with time, laying low and doing the occasional job.

Selling them paydata works wonders too if you have the phone connection for it.

I'll keep these things in mind guys. I also saw somewhere on here that they offer to sell you pardons too. Is that true? You need all the friends you can get in the NBZ depending on what you're trying to do.

Independent Pride - the pardons can be bought from some of the gang leaders, but only if you have minor negative rep. Once you go big, it isn't easy to go back.
