Hi, I bought all the safehouses so I am officially the Donald Trump of NBZ.
A couple of ideas:
1. Caching - when the cyberloader gets fixed you should be able to store extra ammo in your safehouse
2. You should be able to cache medikits and drugs
3. You should be able to cache paydata
The caching idea would be based upon quality (expense of safehouse). It would also be more effective if the game forces inventory load rules on the character (maybe based on strength), meaning the character cannot carry 1000 medikits and 8000 rounds of ammo
Also while on the topic, more expensive hotels/safehouse should give better resting bonus's then cheaper ones. Meaning if you pay 300 yen vs. 50 you can go longer before exhaustion. Also, there should be a chance of a random raid with cheaper safehouses being more susceptible. This would interrupt rest and cause a battle

A simple but good addition would be to add phones at safe houses costing $3000 or more. Not having a phone at a trash filled shack seems plausible, but lacking one at a high end apartment?

I like the idea of caching, especially after inventory limits are started.

Phones - great idea. Added to the list. Caching - great idea, awesome ST name. Added to the list! Expensive Safehouses give better rest - added to the list Complicated. I suggest you try crammers, and lots of 'em.

I also think it would be cool to eventually be able to populate your safehouses with potential teammates, ala Fallout 3 style.

Phones -- this will be a paid upgrade for a safehouse, and require a special Corp Contact
Caches -- These are already in testing. Some safehouses will have it, some will not. Some buildings will have caches but no safehouse and require a "MagLock" to secure your gear.
Super Safehouses -- Long term support for these are already in the game. This will include things like swimming pools, practice arenas (fight drones) and computers.
In addition a number of future features (stock trade, smuggling, production) will revolve around the "off map" safehouses.
In NBZ, you will be able to purchase a single building. In the future of CK you will be able to also purchase an entire zone map with multiple buildings, features and security.

These ideas sound awesome! I love what you guys are coming up with. These ideas will be a game changer for me (and my hacker).
EDIT: Almost forgot, what do you think about a "home network" feature of a building/super safehouse?

home network as in a Matrix Node (if yes, then yes.)
It will be a great place to load your utilities into ram, allocate points to the various deck processors, etc.

Loving the sounds of how safe houses are progressing. Having to need security measures such as booby traps, & drones/teammates could be future options.

You won't probably be "buying" it as much as you'll have a Sponsor who permits you to act like you own it =)

I dont like "owning" a whole block but commanding it after getting enough rep with the owner faction(like being the mayor of it).
