Just had to toss this one out. Is a hex map possible or no way? There's some oddities with the square grid (like being able to move three diagonal square but not shoot three diagonal squares) and it does make some of the line of sight and patching choices trickier than they need to be. Plus, I'm a fan of hex grid warfare anyway.
Any hope or would it be rebuilding from the ground up?

It would be a total rebuild, and our editor (TileEd) has only very limited support for a sub-set of the features you'd expect to see in a hex grid game.
We're also fans of the format, and if our toolchain ever presents an opportunity to build a game in that style, we'll definitely move on it.

There you go. Maybe "Star Traders 4X 2 3D RPG Elite Hex Edition" No no no star traders 4X2 = star traders 8 and we r just now getting to st2 lets take things at the normal TB pace of no more than 4 games at once plz  |
