I can't say how happy I am that we can finally play as the independent faction, (I know its been a while since that update)
And I was just wondering if we will ever be able to play a Templar faction. In star traders.
I have played Templar assault and enjoyed it very much but it would be nice to be able and have the templars play more of a role in star traders at the very least.
Do they have any in game affect other than the Templar officer that you can get and the occasional ship with the Templar prefix?

Welcome jester unfortunately having a templar faction is not in the battle plan for ST  (this question has been asked b4) however its not out of the question for ST2 (i dont remember what Cory Trese said about templars and ST2) and with TA2 coming down the line soon enough ur templar wishes may be fullfilled anyways  |

I think that is correct, yes.
It was in the KS update which said something along the lines of "when choosing priorities during character creation, a high priority for 'profession' is required for the 'Bounty Hunter' and 'Templar' classes"

I actually thought he/she was the the captain of the ship that went trough the hyper warp gate. I know they are just rumors but I've been thinking those two were connected with ST2. Plus who doesn't like a good conspiracy theory.  ? My current theory is that the Steel Song are half Xenos. |

I think that it is possible that your father's ship is the one that came through the Hyperwarp. Most people called him a liar, according to the intro in the Manual.
