I recently introduced this game to a friend, they played the free demo for a few days then bought the elite edition... Then stopped. You see this friend really wanted to play a hunder but when they discovered that it was an 'extra' purchase they lost interest. It was not the money that caused the issue, it was the fact that it's not obvious that the hunder is not included in the full game. They felt cheated. I think you need to 're-word' the play store page.

sparky1x - can you provide some specifics about what you think we should change?

Well, there is no information saying that there is one in-app purchase, the hunder profession at all. I'd stick a sentence in after
"Then experience the Elite upgrade! In addition, Elite includes 3 unique Cyber Knights, 50+ weapons, and 20+ armors, 30+ cybernetic implants and more content and story. And you can copy any Cyber Knight from Cyber Knights RPG (free) to Elite!" saying that there is one in-app purchase, the hunder profession.

Although it's not implied anywhere that you can play a Hunder in Elite, I still think a list of what's available as DLC and prices would be good as a footnote on every app description. What made your friend believe the Hunder was available in Elite? Was it that he was scrolling the the available characters, saw all the locked ones and thought the Hunder was one of them? Or did he see it advertised and just assumed that, instead of just buying the Hunder, if he got the Elite game it would be free? In either of those cases, more clarity on the app description would be excellent

If you try to access the Hunder in Free, it takes you to a page that I believe very clearly explains the Hunder Unlock and the Elite purchase.
Please let me know if you see specific cases we should fix.

I suspect that he just expected to get everything when he sprang for elite. And when that did not happen, he now thinks CK is one of those games where you have to keep paying and paying. The problem is one of not matching his expectations.

Sure. The market states "this game includes IAPs" and we have a help page in the free version any time you get near anything that is Elite / Hunder that explains our model. Please let me know if you see specific cases we should fix.

I want the information on the Google Play game description, for both Free and Elite. By the time anybody reaches an in-game help screen, you have already disappointed him by not living up to his expectations, so the only fix for that is to get the information out early, before any expectations have a chance to be created. Plus you really need to mention that IAP is _only for additional characters_. I pretty much avoid all games that have IAP unless they have something explaining that on their gamepage, because I assume that otherwise I am facing 'I have no idea how much money it will cost me to play this game'. Details like: There is only one IAP, the Hunder (or the Ship Designer) make all the difference for me. I don't mind continuing to support developers I like who are continuing to improve a game I like, but I need to know that this is what I am doing, and not supporting a business model based on 'we'll get more money out of you if you do not know, up front, how much it will cost to really play this game'.

I'd add something that says that the game is constantly being updated, with new updates happening at least every 2 weeks. I am much happier about spending (additional) money to support a game that is being constantly developed, rather than one that just sits there like a vampire and tries to suck money out of my wallet.
" Our development team is actively continuing development and updates of Cyber Knights RPG and we are very receptive to feedback and suggestions. Please help us share this indie RPG! "
This is true, but you could say that and make 1 or 2 releases a year ...

Google is continuing to work to improve this -- they've recently extended the in-market display of information about IAP, including a warning before the user installs the application and a notification on the web page, right next to the install button. They're also interrogating the IAP catalog for the game and displaying something like this:
In-app Products $0.99 - $4.99 per item
We can simply add a list of IAP items, what they are and how much they cost to the store listing. We'll remove it once Google finishes their efforts on IAP visibility.

I'd really respect developers that did that for all of their titles. And if the list of things you could buy for money was a meter long or more, we could be sure what sort of a game we were getting involved with. Laura

I have an idea. I have been reading fiction from the Golden Age of Detective Fiction: i.e. between ww1 and ww2. In Britain there was the 'Detection Club' that had Chesterton, Christie, Sayers, Carr and a bunch of other famous names as members. It was the in thing for mystery writers. It had a code: see here: www.the-line-up.com/the-detection-club-rules/I am wondering, now if we might benefit from an 'Mobile Device Fair Play Rules' or some such, which certain publishers (mostly indie, I expect) could agree on. We could get a place like hard core droid to talk about it -- and then games either would or would not have such a rating. Just musing out loud here. Grävling.

Apple does a great job of listing the IAP in each title, along with price. I suspect Google will catch up soon.

I asked her and was told "i expected the elite edition to contain everything, if it does not contain everything why is it called elite?". It's not about money, she felt tricked.
