I've found that if you select the item option in combat, then abort out (without doing anything), it counts as though you've done an action (without consuming AP).
Actual behavior summary If you select Item, and then back out, it counts as your turn is up, meaning the next highest initiative is able to act.
Expected behavior. If you select Attack or Move, then press abort (or back), it takes you back to all options and it is still your turn to act. This should also be the case when you select item, then abort (press back).

Seeeeeeeeeeeeee this is what happens when I come late to the party!
It took a long time, but I finally earned enough rep to be allowed in. Gotta say that right now, it's CK 80%, HoS 15%, TA 3%, ST 1%, other life 1% right now. I am still only scratching the surface of CK, but that's what I love about TB games. They make you wanna itch in a good way!
