Paint jobs?

I like the way my Scimitar Class looks while cruising the galaxy, but as a Cadaran captain, flying around in a green and red ship kinda makes me feel like i'm betraying my beloved syndicate.

Would it be possible for us to change the color scheme of our ships to match that of a specific faction, or customize them personally?

I +1 this idea.

I have no idea what the art team will say tho, we could certainly add some paint schemes and make different ships have different colors.

Andrew may come back and be like "shut up Cory" so we'll just have to wait and see.

Maybe we'll get new ship designs AND new color schemes ... or maybe just new ships. I'd be happy with new ships but colors sound cool too.

"ooo, that scimitar is in blue and white, so what if i have my red and green one fully upgraded, ITS BLUE AND WHITE!!!"

"hmm, i'm tired of the green and blue picky beggar, lets paint it black and red."

I didnt make this suggestion solely becuase i want a blue and yellow Scimitar class to fly around in, i was thinking about the whole community and the amount of enjoyment they'll be able to get while pimping out their rides.

Photoshop would easily be a good tool to change the hue/color I'd be happy to do some color tweaking of base images - perhaps even just as a test to see if it can be done quickly without Andrew's time. I'd obviously expect Andrew to review and modify as necessary tho

+1 for the idea too. It reminds me of the days of "Elite II: Frontier" and "Frontier: First Encounters". I was specifically looking for Cobra mk I in military painting .

It is definitely on our list. Strong possibility we'll have some variance in ship colors.

What sort of variance? Will there be only one or two variants of the ship sprite or will all six factions have a variation, blue for Cadar, yellow for Thulun, red for Rychart, ect?

I don't know yet, it will depend on art requirements and what we are able to accomplish with the current saved game format.
