Just a note to ask if the captains log will be more prominent in ST2
Asking because at the moment my log looks mostly like:
... Aquired trade permit with {insert faction here} Aquired trade permit with {insert faction here} Lost trade permit with {insert faction here} because violated trade ban Aquired trade permit with {insert faction here} Lost trade permit with {insert faction here} because attacked faction ships ...
This makes my captain look incredibly boring!
Soo... I thought it would be nice to be able to add custom entries into the log after certain events eg. combat, contracts, explorations etc...
This would also make it easier to write up a captains adventures as a post-mortem fanfic, something which I always mean to get round to but always forget about until its too late.
Being able to add the logs of deceased captains to a 'Hall of (in)Fame' sort of thing would also be a cool feature to help remember the great (or not so great) attempts at carving out a niche amongst the stars.
Since this <i>is</i> a wishlist, can we have the names of these captains appear in occasional spice hall rumors, maybe in the place that they died?
^With regards to the final point, I guess this may be reserved for the 'Design a Legend' etc KS reward.

bookworm21 - with more focus on the drama on board the ship and between the characters you meet, you'll definitely have a much more (and character focused) log.

You can write your own log entries in ST, the feature has been there for some time. When you go to the SHIPS log, not the event log, there is a button to the top left of the screen (in portrait mode) that says 'write in log'. This brings up a free-text field for you to write in, and put anything you choose

Nope, not there... It makes me glad that all the newer TB games have cross platform feature parity

Writing the 200K lines of code that make up ST and the ST build tools a second time was really hard. Obviously we had to cut a lot of corners and are still trying to finish feature parity in iST. Thankfully, that isn't an issue in HoS, 4X, or TA2 or ST2. However, holding to that standard means we have sometimes to take more time to add features, because we need to implement them for Android, Windows, iOS, Mac OS X, Linux and Steam.

Thanks for making the effort! It must be frustrating when <rant> a game involving repeatedly tapping on a button to get virtual money which can be spent to increase the rate of virtual money gain has over 250 5-star reviews when you only have 8 reviews total - but alas it seems that the apple fans wish to play mindless junk instead of proper immersive gaming. </rant> I at least appreciate your work immensely! After I've spend another few days playing HoS I'll post my review.
Im pretty sure that 'taking too long too implement features' is a criticism that has never been applied to TB.
Lol, I mean I never knew TA2 was coming out until a few weeks ago.

TA2 will be awesome-sauce on iOS devices.
I'm still working on iST and I have added this:
Ticket #3025 iST - Add Captain Log Entry
The ST2 log system will absolutely be more advanced than the ST RPG one -- there will just be so much more going on.
The Rolls Royce platinum-plated version of ST2's log generator would create something that is borderline interactive narrative fiction. We didn't include a lot of time for it in the initial build out, but it will definitely be something we lay a strong foundation for, and build on as the game develops.

Im really getting into HoS, and definitely looking forward to TA2 - awesome-sauce is well... awesome really.
Thanks for ticketing it, although it isn't really a priority so dont sweat too much over it. Who can fathom the minds of the sock puppets, however...
