So I'm thinking of starting an impossible game. Any tips? I've had a successful on Crazy but only once.

Pretty much everything boils down to good factions. I prefer De Valtos, Rychart and Thulun. With them I've got everything covered, money, research, EP, production. You might switch De Valtos for the new money making faction, or switch Thulun for them as the +2 RP is good in the early game and later is overshadowed by Rychart and their special buildings, especially after the latest patch.
After that... hope for the best and be prepared to restart the game when things go too wrong to fix.
