My experience may be different from others, but I have found that monsters repopulating areas I have already cleared are usually a nuisance (i.e., not fun). My (perhaps unreasonable) request is to remove this feature. There might be some special cases where it makes sense, but in general I find it detracts from the game.
Let me give an example. I am currently in Ep. 3 and have explored some of the City of Dead. I decided I wanted to do the Fang subquest, which starts in Granthorn. However, I entered the CoD from Braeyshalum, so I needed to retread around the whole map to get to Granthorn. I find that when I go through "Waning Moon Pass" or "Brellim Peaks" or "Brellim Pass" that I have to stop every 5 steps and fight another boring battle. The battles are boring for 2 primary reasons. First, the level of the enemies is too low. I have level 30 characters (on nightmare) and the enemies are level 26 or even level 23. The only thing the fights do are take up time. There is no danger or strategy needed. Second, the whole map is already explored. I can fully see where all the enemies are already and there is none of the normal pleasure/satisfaction/excitement in exploring a new map.
Again, other people may feel differently about this, but I feel like monster repopulation results in boring grinding (although it does give experience).

Thanks for the feedback. It is something we use cautiously, and it is only applied to sections of the game that we ourselves replay during testing.
We will definitely be looking at the min/max on a number of levels in an upcoming combat, and clearing the fog on Nightmare is a great suggestion.

samopop - thanks for the feedback. I'll work on the leveling range for those areas.

Boring? Sounds like a grand time to use less buffs, optimize sp usage, and make a quick go of it with rapid fire battles. Rather like an achievement or challenge waiting to happen. Also, xp is always worth it and adds to the score.

I agree with OP that it's boring - not to mention it's annoying as you have to keep drinking potions on nightmare. A few random battles is okay, but there are just so many. Wanting to travel just to buy gear or something takes up a day's worth of gameplay.
It's extra boring with my group as I don't take any hits at all. I just keep hammering away with basic attacks and buff up. It's low risk/low reward/heavy time consumption. The rest of the game is wonderful in that there is no grind to speak of. This detracts from this IMO. I don't think it should be taken away entirely but should be more worthwhile.
Or maybe have a paid fast travel option to the next town?

Blitz - where are the regions that are specifically annoying you? The entire southern route offers fast travel to skip these areas, and with proper navigation of the northern track, you can pass through a region with a very minimal number of fights. Can you give some more context so we can work on improving?

I ran into a huge number of fights. I might have overreacted a tiny bit in my last post but still...

Blitz - the area is called Brellim Peaks. From a quick look at the map, you could pass through the area with a minimum of 2 fights, likely to hit 3. Also, if you wandered around and didn't try to take the short route to the exit, you could hit 5 on your way through. We'll keep working on improving.
