Hi everyone !
I usually play with a Gunslinger, meaning my firearm and my stealth stats are higher than the others (I actually have 12 with both). But, since my stealth is at this level, it now is a bit too much : I do not meet anyone.
The biggest problem is V-Chip : because most of them can be obtained trough encounters, a character whose stealth is too high is penalized...
Do you have any suggestion about it ? I thought there could be implants wich would raise the encounter rate... Hi everyone !

Raven - very interesting issue. V-Chips are continuing to become available through other means in the game, but perhaps stealth should reduce your chance of hitting negative encounters as opposed to all types of encounter.

I agree. Although I would gladly welcome any means to "lower" my stealth out of battles !

nails: Andrew is playing games with us, I think. I added "stealth should reduce your chance of hitting negative encounters as opposed to all types of encounters" to the list like 2 weeks ago. Either Andrew and I are typing the same words or he's copying and pasting our ideas into the forum as suggestions to ourselves.

No. Have you see the new sprites that someone on our team made? I'm not going to say it wasn't me.

Hi Folks, new CK here on the boards. been playing Elite for couple of days now. Really got the hang of it. There is one thing that seems to be out of place. I have horrible rep with KHorizon and Mars. However, last night I spent a great deal of time going from building to building in those zones (to see if there were any goodies like I found at Bravestar). And noticed, not the amount, but the types of encounters are roughly the same percentage as the types I get in an area like Los Val where I am worshiped. It would seem logical that when heat and rep should both have a role in determining the severity of the encounters. In KH territory, I was attaked 57% of the time (Heat 212, Rep -211). Los Val is was attacked 55% of the time (Heat 0, Rep 455). With my preferable Heat/Rep Ratio, shouldn't I get mugged around 5% of the time instead? Whereas with a KH heat/rep ratio that is way unfavorable, almost every enounter should be a bunch of thugs lambasting my cybernetic booty. I will admit, that stealth does seem to help with the rate of encounter occurance good or bad. I'm at 9 in stealth, and if I travel from one end of a zone to another, I get 1 or 2 encounters tops.
Also, a suggestion for the future maybe to add another faction called Purists (or something like that) that can be added into the encounters for those of us that are more robot than human--Just a thought
Love the game guys. love this genre--Not enough of it in the world. Thanks for the hard work!!!!

I am working on a total overhaul of the encounters system which should address the issue you list and a number of others as well.

Thanks for the heads up Cory. Love the game as well as ST. Both of these games occupy more of my spare time than anything on my pc--ahhhh sweet addiction. Anyhow, I played on Brutal level, and currently when it's played ensuring you do not jump on the HEAT scale, it seemed just as easy as EASY mode. However, when just 1 tick of HEAT is on LOOKOUT!!! Pretty frustrating and fun. I guess I'll go back to my Normal Character and lick my proverbial wounds. Thanks again!!!
