Hi. So I'm trying to upgrade my Wolf Cruiser Level 2, actually the stock variant, and I noticed Reactor 7 gives me an extra 100 mass to play with, pulse a faster refuel. So I go around playing in ship building to be told my ship materials are too high. Is this a bug? Or a balance issue?

That is a factor of the reactor providing one fix material design requirement. This connects Reactors to Ship Level (via Ship Level determining Ship Materials maximum.)
This isn't a bug, it's a feature and is working as intended. To support that more advanced reactor, you'll have to sacrifice one point somewhere else.

Ah thank you. I wasn't sure if that was the case or not. But I have to ask. Isn't a Feature considered to be a bug with seniority?

I say it is a feature because I spent several days working out the math that backs it up and making charts showing the rubber-band relationship between Mass/Reactor/Level. However, I do agree that this aspect of the game's rules has seniority. The reactor attribute system was designed very early in the evolution of the game -- it may have, in terms of rules, the longest tenure of any beyond our common AP/MP logic.
