I was racing to get that elusive Rapid Rank III award after obtaning II in the same game.

I knew it was gonna be a close one, the 15k I had to shell out had left me with only 8k in the bank, and I needed 16.7k for my ninth rank in the glorious De Valtos army. I figured a few looted ships from Steel Strong and maybe some records about how their Senate eat lunch might give me enough before the dreaded 64.37AE deadline.

With some SS records, weapons and electronics in my hull, and the money obtained from those piece of junk ships, I made my way back towards Syndicate Capital, when I ran into a dirty smuggler. Since I was in a hurry I let him go and continued on.

I just made it to the The Palace asking about my promotion, only to notice I still need 700 credits. I guess the ships weren't as valuable as I needed. Argh, off to the Exchange to sell off two records for the money. I hope the paperwork doesn't take to long.

What a glorious day, finally a Royal Executioner. With my new coat indicating my rank, I trot off to the Hall of Records to recive my award. The crew will have spice for weeks.

...Hero of the Stars... Damn Hall with their floors of gold and walls of books, damn them to hell. Just because I have to officially recive the award in a ceremony which has to be planned and takes over a week for the paperwork to clear, means I don't receive the Rapid Rank III, but the Hero of the Stars award. They should tell you when you give over your records if you actually get it, instead of on the day of the ceremony. Damn this whole planet too the Xenos. Damn them all.
