I've been playing off and on today, with the game open in the background on my Nexus 5. Then I moved the game to the foreground to play a bit more and and got this error message, "This app won't run without Google Play services, which are missing from your phone."
The funny thing is I think I was signed into GPS, as I usually do that when opening the game or it is done automatically.
I closed the game, reopenned it, signed into GPS and everything seems to work fine.
Probably just one of those things.
