Shop that sells captain items that improve different stats much like ship upgrades but transferrable to a new ship.
1. Captains Pistol - increases warrior stat in a duel vs human captains
2. Laser sword - increases warrior stat in a duel vs alien captains
3. Cybernetic arms - +x to strength
4. Scouter - increases tactics during boarding action
Etc.

What kind or items besides Armor and Weapons will be available in ST2, and how will they be obtained Cory Trese ? You'll work on your Captain and Officer's armaments, weapons, etc at an individual level. Very RPG level of detail. Your crew will most likely be handled as a unit in which you buy the crew "this type of weaponry" and it isn't a specific weapon, just a class ("hexshell firearms"). |

fallen how many officers are we going to get? Will it be based on our ship size, or just the crew quality? IE: if i am flying a small 10 man 'fighter' crewed by elite veterans, can they all be officers or will there be a proportionate limit? I am assuming there are disadvantages to promoting - higher wages being the big one.

That reminds me of a book called "Two Years Before the Mast", which was an account of life at sea composed of journal entries from a 19th-century sailor. I'm not sure if I'm remembering it correctly, but there was a time in the book after one of the crew died, and an officer was recruited from some Californian port there were 3 officers, 4 crew, and the captain. The reason why an officer was recruited instead of a regular sailor was to keep the crew in line, because the captain was cruel and morale could get very low. |
