On Android? That all depends on how you install it.
On Windows? That is the responsibility of Steam, which isn't involved yet.
On iOS? We may have a bug. Which OS version?

I am on android 4.1.2,the install was thru the hockey app, I got a choice of several install methods and I picked "android install packager" or something named similar.
No a big deal since this issue wont be present when the app will be dl'ed from google store.

Yeah, should be setup to have a home screen shortcut on install, depending on your OS and Google Play services.
