I think the Law of Shalun is a little too harsh when it comes to sentencing the offender.
Why am I getting arrested, convicted and sentence to serve time for the same offense again...and again...and again?
And my reputation does not get any better either. I understand now why there would be assassination attempts to these Princes, if they are so unforgiving like that, sign me up and you don't even have to pay me.
If the Law puts a monetary equivalent to the reputation, shouldn't time spent in prison be an equivalent to the monetary requirement if the offender cannot come up with the said amount?
If the offended can demand a repeat of time serve for the same offense, then any monetary equivalent should always be insufficient to pardon your negative reputation.
In layman's term, you can demand for me to pay you 10clams every time I see you, even if I already paid you the same 10clams I owed you.

This has been discussed a few times and I think I agreed that it needed to be changed. It doesn't look like I finished it (it is still in the spreadsheet) but I agree with the post.
We're going to make it a +1 and see how quickly I can get it added to the game's codebase

maybe we can add an option for bail bond, to decrease the time spent frozen? I don't know how hard would that be to program.
I can understand that a Captain can have multiple violations...
ooohh, i just had an idea: how about you can review your violations in the Hall of records, and when you visit, you can review and choose which one you want to stand trial. there would be statutes of limitations as to how long you have to choose to pay off you offense. If time runs out before your trial date then you can be captured and convicted and serve time, fines/bail bonds can increase on the same offense. All accusations beyond the statute of limitation will be compounded and will no longer be reviewed but can be paid off with increased fine. Or if captured, all will be compounded to the time served.
It will also be nice to show in the summary how long is the sentence, if captured. (or is it in there already? I never read these fine prints)

The length of the sentence is determined by the Wanted Status, negative Reputation rating and the sector in which the court was held. The number of turns is displayed in the fine print.
