I had this thought recently. If we do not know what exactly is touched by the game's difficulty scale, how can we discuss strategies independently on game difficulty?
When it is price of goods, repairs, healing, probability of finding Aliens or expensive cargo, when it scales the level of enemy captains, or fuel consumption, that seems to be fine. But when it changes some fundamental ways how the game works, it may make some strategies completely useless on higher difficulties and create misunderstanding between discussing players.
My questions is: Should we mention difficulty each time when discussing game strategies and rules? Or is it just making the certain strategy harder or more dangerous to do?

I think you're misunderstanding the way difficulty works in ST RPG.
I'd love to understand why you seem so hostile towards the game's rules.

My questions is: Should we mention difficulty each time when discussing game strategies and rules? Or is it just making the certain strategy harder or more dangerous to do? If it all goes back to these fuel and blockade bugs, I understand you're frustrated. I am not sure, however, that posts like this help anyone. They certainly do not work towards including more players in the game or helping people enjoy it more. Statements like "strategies completely useless" seem to paint the efforts of the development and testing teams in a highly negative light. Maybe it is the mobile games I play but I'm not sure I am ever 100% fully aware of what exactly is touched by the game's difficulty. Difficulty increases the challenges in the game. Hopefully, in my opinion, in many different ways. Star Traders RPG is designed to use difficulty and turn rate as a scale that increases a number of the challenge factors. That has been true and remained unchanged as a design goal since last August.

I am sorry if I seem hostile towards the game's rules -- whatever that means. I have tried to understand the way how the difficulty works in ST RPG reading the wiki and this thought come to my mind. I am also not asking you directly.
I am very unhappy to sound aggressive of any sort. That is not my intention. I am curious. And unable to find answer. I would be completely satisfied with answer: "I think you're misunderstanding the way difficulty works in ST RPG. It just scales a lot of factors to make the game more or less difficult and do not make any fundamental changes affecting game rules. You can safely discuss game strategies without mentioning the game difficulty settings."

It just scales a lot of factors to make the game more or less difficult and do not make any fundamental changes affecting game rules. You can safely discuss game strategies without mentioning the game difficulty settings unless your strategy depends on exploiting one of the following impacted values:
* All Dice Tests * Enemy Level * Resource Availability * Combat Stat Visibility * Character Death * Space Movement * Exploring * Harvesting * Landing * Ship and Upgrade Availability
For example, if your strategy depends on being invulnerable to death then it would not work above Normal. Another example would be if your strategy depends on non-exhaustible resources then it will not work on the higher difficulty settings.
The ones in bold are the only mechanical differences based on difficulty.

They certainly do not work towards including more players in the game or helping people enjoy it more. I am sorry I have been completely misunderstood in my completely unrelated question. You have written the answer in your posts already, so if you think there are more people who may misunderstand the wording that I have used, feel free to delete this whole thread. I was not stating anything, I claimed it was "the recent thought that come to my mind". Nothing else.

I don't like to delete threads, especially ones that contain me making mistakes. Seems heavy handed to hide my own bad-posting =)
I do apologize if I misunderstood your intention with the original post. Hopefully my third post (third time's the charm?) helps answer your question without any other CTrese stuff attached.

That is 110% perfect answer to my question. Than you very much! I hope that will help us (or just me?) discussing the game strategies. Once again, I apology for the wording I have used which may lead to misunderstanding. I am always unhappy when this happens . I would certainly love to know what exactly felt so hostile in my post?
