Android 4.2.2 Samsung S4 0.0.7
In level 2 of the tutorial, I get an engineer and the all powerful voice tells me that I can repair tact points that are damaged. How do i do that? I've tried walking all the way around the thing, tapping on each square. No joy. am I doing something wrong? I swear I'll just use the corner of the tact point as a scratching post and be done with it.
Also I had a Xeno that was standing out-side of the yellow striped area. It successfully attacked the Tact Point. I didn't think it would be able to do that unless it was adjacent to the TP. Screenshot to follow

It takes the Repair Talent, which lacks decoration or proper introduction in Phase 1. Working on it.
Sentry Pod is better =)

Okay - you'd think that the engineer would start with a repair talent ...

Okay - you'd think that the engineer would start with a repair talent ... They probably won't ... but we'll see! =) Maybe it should be the same as Capture. I dunno -- there is still debate =)

Not to belabor the point, but it'd be like having a medic who couldn't actually heal a person until they have researched training. The engineer should be able to do basic field repairs for a TP from the get-go. I would understand it if the engineer needed to train to add HP to a TP ... or provide enhancements like TP shielding, or sentry guns slaved to the TP ... ... now that would be cool. Engineers are the brains of the front line. One would hope that they have adequate training on capture and repair before being deployed to the field

Oh here is the screenshot of the Xeno that managed to successfully attack the TP.

slayernz - I have looked everywhere and cannot find any tutorial dialog that says your Engineer can or should repair that Tact Point. I have found dialog saying that you should establish a defensive perimeter and keep aliens at least 2 spaces away. At this time in the progression, an Engineer does not have repair Talent. Please quote the specific dialog that you found misleading.

Will run the next squad through and see if I pick it up - maybe it was just wistful thinking that made me read something that wasn't there.
It's interesting that the engineer needs x turns to clear out a Xeno TP, then an additional turn to convert it to a Templar TP. Is there any upgrade path where either the engineer gets multiple uses of the "Capture" function, or can clear and convert in one action (should there be 10% or less remaining on the Xeno TP? Then again, the old BattleField games require you to first clear an enemy influence on a spawn point, then convert over to friendly spawn resulting in the capability to have neutralized spawn points.

The Engineering skill is used to calculate damage I believe, enough points in it should bring it to where you could potentially knock it out in one hit. One hit from my Engineer took the Xeno TP in level 2 down to 50%. I agree that a Repair ability is some thing that makes since to get ASAP. One time in level 2, just after I moved out of the elevator and killed the one Xeno there, 3 more Xenos came in and hit my TP dropping me right down too 2 HP on it. Because of the Fog of War, it's really hard to decide where to put the Overwatch box. This is the one case right now where the ability to repair a TP should be something an Engineer can do from the start because no matter what I've done, my TP almost always loses 2 HP that first turn. It puts a serious disadvantage on the player if there not careful in how they choose there next few turns. Once yopu learn the level though, it does become easy to protect the TP and it not suffer anymore damage at all. This is also just the first phase of the Alpha, we shouldn't be too hard on the TB's
