In Star Traders RPG we are lucky to survive encounters with Xenos, but 4X a single ship is capable of going toe to toe with Xenos and winning.
For Example: in a game I was playing a few days ago I had 2 Thulun Cutters get up to Level 36! Now I understand that said Cutters are advanced ships and Gravity Drivers badass, but how do they take out so many and my 300 year old Captain in Star Traders RPG struggles on single ships?

To avoid confusion, I would try not to play them simultaneously on two devices. The difference in power levels can cause headaches.

Maybe the ST4X universe is not the same one as ST RPG. That would also explain the larger variety of weapons in 4X and the fact that ships can travel up to 4 times the distance in one week compared to ST RPG. Also the value of credits is interestingly inconsistent with ST RPG.

I still have one of those Cutters. The Lion of Galantia, 47xp! That ship is a beast!

For example 1 credit for the High Templar is worth 100,000 Star Trader Credits...or something like that

Uhhh....because.....maybe that's just the general symbol for Credits? Like how $ stands for dollars but there are different kinds of dollars worth varying amounts?

because we when we tried to display everything with abbreviations to indicate $1 in 4X = $100,000 in RPG it didn't look right.

Also consider the size and crew counts of a Faction ship in 4X vs. the size and crew counts of an independent Star Traders ship in RPG.

I'm just saying my Captain in his upgraded Valgrind Interceptor should be equal to a Fighter in 4X. You ever see one of those? Best ship I've had,of coarse said captain got killed while ramming a bounty hunter,so what do I know:P No wait!!! I got it! The reason why is the xp difference! Like in 4x a Xenos ship is a pain in the butt to hit if it out levels your ship,so my ancient captain is fighting Xenos way out of his weight class!

Eh, on 'Hard' difficulty my 234 crew super-duper Behomoth the mighty 'New Design' chewed through a 30 something hull, 90 engines, 150 crew etc in pretty short order. I have yet to find an Alien Flagship though...(erk)
I think i need to move up to crazy.

Having said that, that alien was I think his 400th victory, so thats a lot of XP 4X-wise.

I think the Xeno you encounter in 4X are just a weaker subspecies of the menace in STRPG

There is also the fact that the years are different. STRPG is year 50+. ST4X, so far, hasn't had many games that long, unless they stagnate.
