Rebalance on Tact Point Upgrades and Ordinance?

Some of the upgrades and ordinance seem crazy expensive. Maybe once I get further I'll change my mind, but I have yet to be able to actually use any of them because of the pacing of the levels I have played so far.
You are always so busy on the battlefield:
-Positioning
-Buffing
-Xeno slaying
-Guarding lanes of fire
-Racing to the next objective
-Dropping in more soldiers (therefore spending tons of points in the process)
The last thing I have time (and therefore SP to spend on anything but soldiers) for is saving up for the (extremely) expensive Tact Point upgrades. By the time it would take to actually save up for some of these, the mission would already be over. IMO considering the cost of some of these- many of which will be 3-4X as expensive as a non-veteran recruit which take 5-10 turns on an unupgraded Tact Point- I'm worried that some of these amazing upgrades will end up being underused in all but the most drawn-out and protracted battles, when turn count no longer matters.
I want to see some of these way reduced. Unless there is a way for the Engineer to BEGIN a Tact Point with a SP upgrade, these upgrades will not be used as often as they should... I could see spending 1200 tops (2x the cost of a basic Engineer) for some of these. Of course there will be a sacrifice to get the points for one of these upgrades, but the cost/benefit just isn't justified. The cost in pacing for upgrades like the +SP boosts is steep to the point where regaining the cost in the added SP takes far more turns and therefore pacing than I think it should.
Forgive me if some of you have found otherwise, and like I said, I may change my mind the further I get, I just wanted to start the dialog on the subject. Thanks for hearing me out on this one- I really want to justify spending the points for these, but the amount of pace lost is keeping me from bothering with them....
